Power play didn’t look too bad. Some decent chances. Still 2-1. SOGs 16-8.

Power play needs more movement on it and to work the puck down low. 55 foot wrist shots aren't going to go in. Better period though.

Somebody needs to tell these BGRSO guys they are on the radio. You can hear play going on, and these guys are just rambling on. Awful to listen to.

Ugly. Butts kicked by a better team. Team needs more contributors. O'Hara and Swankler have eight of the team's 14 goals.

Comfort Zone is big, happy to just put on the sweater rather then have workman like attitudes to improve the team. Five games in and I'm willing to bet come February we'll be 20 to 28 in the Pairwise and under 500 against teams with winning records. Zero urgency.

0/5 on the powerplay last night. We absolutely have to be better with the man advantage.

42% on faceoffs. It starts with being able to possess the puck.

23 shots isn't good enough either. If we only scored once on 23 shots, we would need 115 shots to win the game last night, given our shooting percentage. Our shots need to go up, and our ability to convert said shots into goals needs to increase as well.

Let's get em back tonight in Game 2.

There were some positives from last night. Compared to last year the defensemen are doing a better job of tying up their man (though the second goal was a brain cramp), we're clearing rebounds, and we're blocking shots. We're gonna get a lot more practice at this.

I sat in front of the guys who didn't play. When they came back from the locker room after the first intermission I asked if there was a change in the game plan. Compete harder was the answer. "Uh oh" I thought.

I'm trying so hard to give them a chance, but like you referred to, it's tough at times. We've been spoiled over the recent years with the likes of Fitzhugh, Pivnik, and Vallon who were EXCELLENT at calling games. I think these guys will eventually "get it" but the growing pains are very obvious over the air. I know it's not an easy thing to call play by play action, but if they would just simplify their broadcast and say what's happening as opposed to trying too hard to interject their "personality" into the broadcast, it would probably be a much better product. How many "and he said" thoughts do we really need. They just clutter the broadcast. I'm not trying to pile on, It's just intended to be constructive criticism.

Exactly. They remind me of current TV broadcasters, and it probably wouldn't be so bad if viewable on TV. Unfortunately, driving down the road means I can't watch a broadcast. I will normally pull up Flo and listen while driving during CCHA games.

Hopefully that's the players being coy and keeping things in the locker room, but if the message is to simply compete harder without any tangible adjustments, what the hell is the coaching staff doing?
