Is…is this satire? I mean I don’t hate the guy personally, but statement win is one of the more hilarious over-exaggerations I have seen on here.falcfan wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 4:39 pm Really disappointed seeing all these posts discussing other coaches in BG after the statement win against Akron. We are lucky Coach Loeffler chose BG as his personal and professional home. I guess wins aren’t good enough for some people. Let’s keep it positive.

Was Loeffler a candidate anywhere else? By all accounts...Our AD and he lol buddy Kit went off the board
to hire him.
It seems like he was the lucky one. @

Re: Coaching carousel
A statement win would be a multi-score victory Saturday over a divisional foe who is already 2-0 in conference. Squeaking by Akron, largely due to their self-inflicted mistakes is more fortune than anything.BillyLP wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 9:21 pmIs…is this satire? I'd hope none of us are actively rooting for Scot to fail, but the reality is the results of the program coupled with a new AD likely coming in before the end of the season means the landscape is not trending in his favor.

I thought it was a serious post until looked up his old posts.

It is satire. Not everyone can write for The Onion, I guess.BillyLP wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 9:21 pmIs…is this satire? Will Healy was on the list that the search committee provided when Loeffler was hired and is still only 37 years old.

Re: Coaching carousel
I've always wondered how many coaches recommended by these search organizations actually work out. I have friends that work in the recruitment world and it's more so about the number of heads you can find for a job as opposed to the quality. Can't help but imagine that for these lower tiered schools it's simply a bunch of names with middling backgrounds and you hope you're picking the best from a mediocre bunch.

Vince Kehres?
Was a favorite of some of the decision makers in 2019 IIRC....assuming we wind up at 5-7 or lower. Could he be in play this time around? 6-6 or better gets us another year of SL

Re: Coaching carousel
Kehres interviewed for the BG job, realized he needed coordinator experience at the FBS level before taking a head coaching job. If Candle is let go at UT it'll be interesting to see where Vince ends up. I can see Toledo maybe giving him the job, or him potentially throwing his name into the hat of some of the other open G5 jobs.

Kerhes is the leader for next time we're hiring a coach, to me. But here's hoping Loeffler keeps up this momentum and gets us to a bowl game to prove everyone wrong.
