I'm wondering if Mankato makes the refs buy a ticket for the game, so they waited until the third period to show up. Those two penalties and the weak holding call on Lellig in the third, but yet Grant gets hit knee on knee at the blueline and it's play on as usual.BGhockeyfan94 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 28, 2022 10:40 pm
I was shocked that OT penalty was called, and the cross check against MSU with 3 minutes left in the game was also called. They usually let ya cross check them until a retaliation, and then take both for roughing.

End of the 1st. Tied at 1. BG's only credited shot went in.
Lots of contact with Stoever so far, including on their goal scored.

Very questionable holding call right there. Especially after 1 or 2 missed calls against Mankato.

This is a tough team to watch. 3 power plays in a row, down by 2, and maybe get 1 shot.

Tech next weekend won't be a pushover. This is unfortunately looking like a 11-12 win season.

And then the "goaltender interference" call after O'Hara gets tripped in front of the net. Just a head shaker. Mankato really isn't that good. At one point, BG was 2 for 3 on shots going in the net. For as good as they supposedly are, they sure need a lot of holding through the neutral zone, and pick plays to open ice up for themselves.BGhockeyfan94 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 8:31 pm Very questionable holding call right there. Good teams always run subtle interference in the neutral zone since it rarely gets called. Never been one to be critical of the officials either. Comes off as sour grapes. Each team will typically get their power play opportunities.pdt1081 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 9:58 pmAnd then the "goaltender interference" call after O'Hara gets tripped in front of the net. Mavs obviously not as talented as last year and BG should have come away with a win this weekend. Tech series is looking like a must have now with Bemidji and Northern showing they're going to be difficult to deal with.
Ty's seat is going to start to warm up if things don't turn around before Christmas.

Six of their 8 games have been on the road. All four league games have been on the road in very tough places to play. 17 of their final 26 games are at home including 14 out of 22 league games. Let's hope for a good week of practice and some more healing of their injuries.

I had a social engagement on Saturday and missed the game. Is it worth my time to watch the replay or will I just get irritated?

I actually thought they physically looked better than Friday, but spent way too much time in their own zone defending. If you have it in you, the first two periods were actually kind of encouraging. Third was the irritating one.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Sun Oct 30, 2022 12:53 pm I had a social engagement on Saturday and missed the game. Nothing subtle about what they do. It's bold and in your face. The fact they've been able to do it so long is the frustrating part.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 10:12 pm

And you can call it sour grapes all you want. After that penalty on O'Hara, I'm sure Stoever would like a word. This is NCAA D1, there is no excuse for not having consistency throughout a game. These guys aren't even capable of consistency shift to shift.

Good teams can win on the road or atleast obtain splits. BG can't get splits at home. More wrong then a few early road games.Hockey John wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 10:23 pm Six of their 8 games have been on the road.
