On the first night of weeknight #MACtion, after one quarter, Ohio is up 17-0 on Buffalo.
I did not see that coming.

24-10 Ohio at half. Bobcats gifted Buffalo a TD on a dropped pass and shanked punt.Schadenfreude wrote: ↑Tue Nov 01, 2022 8:25 pm On the first night of weeknight #MACtion, after one quarter, Ohio is up 17-0 on Buffalo.

Ball State is up on Kent 20-13. Lewis' tempo offense has had issues all season being consistent.

Re: Past and Future Opponents (& MAC Talk)
Buffalo has a rather easy schedule down the stretch. At CMU, home vs. Akron, home vs. Kent. Ohio has to go on the road against Miami and Ball State before hosting BG the final week. Little more difficult but still winnable games.
BG has their work cut out for them.

Re: Past and Future Opponents (& MAC Talk)
I did. Ohio led 17-0 before Buffalo even had a first down. Ballgame. OU owns UB down in Athens and has crushed them the last few times when UB came in having a really good season. Ohio is going to win the East. They are undefeated at home with only BG left to play and Rourke is simply killing it right now. And he's only a sophomore. They still have two more years with him which is downright scary. Ohio is in complete control of its own destiny now on a month-long winning streak, owns the tie-breaker over Buffalo and will host BG.Schadenfreude wrote: ↑Tue Nov 01, 2022 8:25 pm On the first night of weeknight #MACtion, after one quarter, Ohio is up 17-0 on Buffalo.

Re: Past and Future Opponents (& MAC Talk)
Thanks for this breakdown. Before the year, I would have said our best case record at this point would be 6-3, with the differences being wins against EKU and Buffalo and a loss against Miami. My worst case would have been 2-7 with wins being EKU and Akron. Falling on the positive side of those possibilities is a pretty good feeling. I'm guessing that Loeffler has earned one more year here in the eyes of the administration, especially if they are keeping a closer eye on Huger. If he ends up with a 7 or 8 win season, I would expect (not ENDORSE, but EXPECT) a one- or two-year extension after the season. If he ends at 5 or 6 wins, I'm guessing they will let next year play out before making a decision (though it is increasingly rare to let a coach actually reach a last year of his contract).jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 9:26 am Just a recap overall and the MAC situation

Re: Past and Future Opponents (& MAC Talk)
No chance Loeffler goes into next year as a lame duck. Either he's extended or let go. Leaning towards the former at the moment, probably a one-year extension. Season could have gone off the rails after the EKU game, he and his staff deserve some praise for getting things righted and showing some gradual improvement week over week.BillyLP wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 11:39 amThanks for this breakdown. On another board, I saw a Toledo fan suggest that Loeffler is worth consideration for MAC coach of the year. Which -- isn't completely crazy, I guess.

Tim Albin is probably the front runner...but Loeffler will get some votes in the top 3
