Yeah...I rolled through Appalachian State down in Boone, NC shortly after they had opened their arena in 2001ish. It was pretty apparent then that a school like that could cause problems for the MAC.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Hell, our 2015 conference champion team lost by like 30 in their bowl game.

The MAC just blows, man. It’s unfortunate.
They lost by like 30 to Toledo too - at home in front of a packed Doyt.

Yes, I was also there. It did suck - watching a promising season completely fall apart at home once again. The championship is hollow without the win over UT. Plus then they choked the following week, so BG didn’t even beat the best team in the West for the title, but that’s how it goes. Unlike 2013, that didn’t have the feel of a real championship game.

Funny that gets brought up. Walker had an interview with Taylor Royster before last week's game and even Royster said the 2015 MAC Championship is a bit less celebrated amongst the team due to the situation with NIU and playing a walk-on QB. Royster basically said the team knew they were going to win and the effort was reflected during the game.

In case anyone missed it, BG is bowl eligible. 😂
