I hate ESPN...but I love ESPN+
Nov and Dec are slow months at my office...but I have a Roku and ESPN+ so I can watch NHL, football, basketball....it's awesome.

Me too. I can watch almost any MAC or BG game on ESPN+...football, hoops, Vball. And I have access to every German Bundesliga match, which is awesome for following my fave team, VfL Wolfsburg. For $10 a month, can't beat it.

Great for hockey, you can watch four games at once. Best thing the NHL has done in years.

Re: at Toledo (11/15)
My only issue with ESPN+ is the fact the assholes will not kill off ESPN3 and make everything ESPN+. I have both services since I get ESPN3 tied to my DirecTV, but I know there are occasionally games that show in the app that require one subscription vs the other. It's just a blatant money grab.

. Yeah that was absolutely the team to smack them around and they smacked us around immediately. And at our place. Gross.BGSU33 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 15, 2022 12:25 pm The last time I felt good, like optimistically good, about BG beating Toledo was back in 2015. We were at home as a 7-point favorite (hard to even fathom nowadays) and we came out and simply got our doors blown the hell off by Toledo. It was as bad as any matchup I can remember in recent history. UT had us down 30-7 midway through the second quarter. It was awful. We lost 44-28 but it wasn't as close as the score indicated, although we did battle back with effort in a losing cause. And that was the year we actually won another MAC Championship while also beating Maryland and Purdue that season and we had some great players. We dodged a bullet not having to face Toledo again in Detroit, although I would have liked to have had another shot at them after that mess. Still, I felt as good as any recent matchup vs Toledo then and I was really, really wrong. The only hope I really have is what I mentioned in another thread, that is, UT has already locked up going to Detroit and a bowl. Having a backup QB play would be another plus. Still, it's Toledo, and I just come to expect a loss until we show we can actually start to beat them again consistently. Which has been a long, long time ago...

True dat, Hammb. Get rid of 3 and just go ESPN+. Obviously people will pay for the streaming service.hammb wrote: ↑Tue Nov 15, 2022 12:51 pm My only issue with ESPN+ is the fact the assholes will not kill off ESPN3 and make everything ESPN+. Yeah, no doubt. I thought for sure we would roll tsun in 2015 and we pissed down our leg. I remember looking up at 30-7 thinking what in the name of Moe Ankney is going on here? lol. BG had 13 turnovers all season in 2015. 13. We had FIVE against tsun in one game. FIVE. Seems tsun just waits for BG to start making mistakes and hits us.BGSU33 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 15, 2022 12:25 pm The last time I felt good, like optimistically good, about BG beating Toledo was back in 2015. I believe the BiG difference the last 10 years has been tsun coaches always make this game a priority. Babers didn't care and neither did Jinx. Even Clawson, as good as he was, didn't seem to put the right emphasis on the game. He was always about winning the East and getting to Ford Field. Hell Gregg Brandon was the last BG coach to really get after it with ut. He and Amstutz had a great rivalry and there were some damn good games between the two teams. In fact, the best BG/UT game I ever saw was 2005 when we lost 44-41 in OT. Bitterly cold night and it was like two heavyweight fighters landing punch after punch. Both teams left it all on the field and they made 1 more play than we did. That damn TE that always gave us fits.
Loeffler says the right things about the game but...prove you can back it up tonight.

Light rain-snow. Team just out for warmups past a fairly raucous UT student section. Atmosphere feels good!

Re: at Toledo (11/15)
I know it's not a popular thought on here, but I was 100% on board with Clawson's philosophy. I'll take winning the East over losing to Toledo in the regular season ANY year. Winning the division gets you to Detroit to play for a title. Beating UT in the regular season may for may not have anything to do with getting there. The MAC title is way more important than any MAC regular season game and it's what every MAC team's goal is. I remember the emphasis Clawson put on winning the East. His primary target wasn't beating Toledo. It was beating Ohio. He said when BG started beating Ohio, we'd go to Detroit. Well, BG beat OU in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015, and went to Detroit 2013-15. And while he wasn't there for all of them, we all know the program was stacked by Clawson when Babers took over. And the beauty of it for BG is, BG is actually able to play for a MACC by playing Toledo because we're in different divisions. How many MAC teams can face their rival for the MACC? Ohio and Miami? Nope. Kent State and Akron? Nope. CMU and WMU? Nope. They're al divisional foes. Can you imagine how sweet it would be to beat Toledo FOR a MACC? Also, in 2013 and 2015 when we beat NIU to win the MAC, I remember how pissed Toledo fans were that BG won the MAC title because they beat us head-to-head both times in the regular season. Well, how did that ultimately work out for them??? BG won the MAC and beat NIU both times, the same NIU team that had UT's number them. So yeah, UT could pump their chest about a win over BG in the regular season all they wanted, big deal. BG trumped them with the ultimate conference hardware, the MACC. Is beating Toledo nice? Sure. But it pales in comparison to winning the MACC.Falconfreak90 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 15, 2022 3:34 pmYeah, no doubt. I thought for sure we would roll tsun in 2015 and we pissed down our leg.
