Re: 2022 Season
Central Michigan has also lost their 7th game, making them ineligible for a bowl game.

Here are the bowl tie-ins. MAC sent eight teams last year, they will not match that this year. Six guaranteed tie-ins. BG, Ohio, Toledo, EMU are eligible. Buffalo sitting at five wins. The winner of Miami/Ball State next week will clinch. So six teams seems likely but could be as few as five.

I'm guessing the optional bowls might be off the table and we might just be looking at the core list of games.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 9:30 am Here are the bowl tie-ins. Given that our new athletic director lives in Tucson right now, it would be a hoot to play in that game.

Re: 2022 Season
Most likely. ESPN has a lot of say on all this so it really comes down to the best matchups they want to get on TV. BG will not be excluded though since there are six guaranteed slots and that is the maximum number of MAC schools who will go bowling this year.Schadenfreude wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 11:31 amI'm guessing the optional bowls might be off the table and we might just be looking at the core list of games.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 9:30 am Here are the bowl tie-ins. In anticipation of the potentially historic blizzard...The NFL has moved Sunday's Buffalo game to Detroit. Would the MAC consider taking a similar step?

Latest forecast I saw took the heaviest of the snow south of UB's campus. Orchard Park is 19 miles south of the university and close to the bullseye. All indications are they're playing in Buffalo on Saturday.

Also moved into the top 100 NFL prospects for PFF. Have seen him flying up a lot of boards as a sure Day 3 pick.

All of the forecast graphics I've seen show the entire metro area getting at least 12-18 inches of snow. Seems needlessly risky to a attempt to play under those conditions. Would make for great TV thoughjpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 5:07 pmLatest forecast I saw took the heaviest of the snow south of UB's campus. Re: 2022 Season
Weather Channel app has Amherst, NY getting 5-11" through Saturday morning. Probably why the decision was made to play the game on UB's campus. Akron may have to take the scenic route to get there though.Flipper wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 7:41 amAll of the forecast graphics I've seen show the entire metro area getting at least 12-18 inches of snow. Kent State was eliminated from bowl eligibility tonight.
[/quote]
The downside to that is they won't have bowl eligibility as a motivation when they play Buffalo IF we are in a position to need their help at that point. Lose in Athens and it won't matter.

May try for Sunday...but that seems unlikely given the travel issues into and out of the area
