The Falcons travel to Bonnieland to face the A-10's St. Bonaventure this afternoon. They are 1-2 with a home win against St. Francis (PA) and two away losses at Canisius and South Dakota State. Neither of those teams are bad, but should probably be beaten by an A-10 team, so I'm not really sure what to expect. They were a preseason Top 25 last season but basically lost everyone from that entire roster. They have something like 12 new players. Hopefully we can pull out a nice road win today.
Go Falcons!

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

Little known fact. School is named after singer Bonnie Raitt.
Lets give them something to talk about today. Talk about losing.

Metheny is a Div II level player. He has no business being out there. By all accounts he’s a great kid but he’s a bust.

He's better than Lightfoot. He's one of our 5 best players right now.
The issue is shot selection and an offense creating high percentage shots. We have a bad offense and bad shot selection. Today we are atleast taking shots later on the shot clock.

That's exactly been the case for 8 yrs now. I don't think we've ever gotten an accurate gauge on any players offensive ability. Justin Turner is the leading scorer in school history but by the time he graduated was an inefficient mess.Globetrotter wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 7:28 pm He's better than Lightfoot. If Matheny was allowed to come around screens and catch and shoot occasionally he may put up a worthwhile percentage. As is we have him chucking transition 3s while falling sideways 5' beyond the arc. Sure some is on him, but when we've seen this exact shot selection and offense for 8 years for every player then it's gotta be what they're coached. He's still one of very few on this roster that will even occasionally make the right pass.
It's tough to fault the players for not running the offense when it doesn't even look like we have one.

The guy can’t even make a layup at this level.

Ayers is looking like our best player.

He definitely cannot finish among the trees in this level. It renders his penetration ability completely useless.
He's purely a perimeter player. I think he could be a viable distributor if we actually ever moved without the ball. Inside the 10' though he's useless.

Down 33-26 at halftime.
Honestly, we’ve been competitive. But our lack of consistent offense is pitiful and will doom us in games against decent teams.

Re: St. Bonaventure 11/19
The worst part is that it makes anybody watching this team just feel like we're getting pounded in every game. Even the ones we win it feels like luck.
Our offense, thus far, has been so very bad in every game that our opponents have skipped down to our level. Even when we're only down by 7 pts it feels like we're getting completely dominated with no hope.
I find it tough to believe we're not bottom 50 in NCAA for offensive efficiency. Ayers seems like the only true scorer we've got and we do nothing to build off of that.

Re: St. Bonaventure 11/19
I switched over to the BG women when the men went to the half. They put up 34 in Q2 and lead 51-32. I'm not quite ready to say this but I might lean toward saying the women are more fun to watch than the men. Pressure 'D' forced 17 turnovers.
BG men are getting killed on the boards 23-13 this game. I think they did much better the first 3 games.
