Who won last year's game?

It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.
Re: Ohio U Tuesday night...
And??? What does that have to do with Tuesday night? Last year both teams were dead in the water. Both teams had losing records and neither could go to a bowl. BG won a meaningless game essentially because we had the better kicker on a very windy day (BG made 4 FG's). BG's win did end a 5-game losing streak to Ohio, but that's about all that win was worth. This year's game is completely different, a total 180 from last year's meaningless season finale. A MAC East Championship and trip to Detroit is on the line. Both teams have winning records and are bowl eligible. Last year nothing was riding on the game. This year nearly everything is riding on the game. BG hasn't won in Athens since 2015 and has been taken behind the woodshed the last two visits there (lost by 42 and 35 points). If Rourke doesn't play, it greatly improves BG's chances at a win. If he does play (which I expect), we had better get after him all game long as we did last year because if he has time, he will slowly and painfully dissect BG. If BG falls behind to Ohio, it's game over. They've led in all but one of the last 24 quarters of action (6 games!) that they have played. If they get ahead, they stay ahead. No one has been able to put true pressure on them in the past two and a half months. But that's the kind of effort it's going to take to beat these guys.
GO BG!!!

FWIW, a commenter on the OU board said Rourke was witnessed on Friday needing some assistance to get up and down some stairs. No crutches, but perhaps a cane or something. There's creeping doubt on their side that Kurtis plays. I'd take it with a grain of salt but there is a better than slim chance it would appear that CJ Harris may start for the Bobcats.

Re: Ohio U Tuesday night...
All that matters tomorrow night is 60 minutes, or OT, if necessary. OU has been playing the best ball in the MAC the last 6 weeks and they are totally legit. IMO, the best team in the MAC. Penalties and turnovers will be huge. OU is +9 TO margin while we are +5. Both in good shape there. But the difference is OU doesn't beat themselves. 60 penalties all year including NONE vs NIU. By contrast, we have 94 penalties on the season. We simply cannot afford stupid penalties. To beat this team, we have to play mistake free and aggressive football.
OU is a 7 pt fave...all the pressure is on them. We can steal this one....

Like BG is on the road, team has played better overall ball away from the Doyt, especially in conference play. Agree that self-inflicted wounds need to be kept at a minimum. Everyone needs to be locked in. Weather is looking decent. Tomorrow is also the last day of classes at OU for the week. We'll see how many come out for the game.Falconfreak90 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 1:07 pm All that matters tomorrow night is 60 minutes, or OT, if necessary. Really wish I could be there but saddling my wife with two little ones is something I would probably never hear the end of, so TV it is. Hopefully enough BG fans make the trip. This reminds me a lot of the 2012 game (stakes are a bit different) but BG and OU were neck and neck in the East standings (4-1) with the winner challenging Kent for the division crown. OU self-destructed in that one and BG took advantage. Can only hope for a similar outcome.Falconfreak90 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 1:23 pmI'm feeling really good about this one, dude. My favorite away stadium in the MAC! (granted, I haven't been to Akron's new one). It's intimate and they can make it loud when they get a solid crowd in there. Got to watch a game from the sidelines with BG24 back in 2010 (not a great year) and it was a blast.Falconfreak90 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 1:23 pmI'm feeling really good about this one, dude. I haven't seen a game at Peden, but the campus is gorgeous. Right up their with Miami for the best in the MAC. I would recommend taking a stroll around if the weather allows.
Re: Ohio U Tuesday night...
Almost everything rides on the health of Rourke. I don’t think he’ll play, I think they are just praying he’s ready for MACC if they get there.
If he doesn’t play BG’s defense will crowd the line of scrimmage and make them prove they can throw. If they can’t BG has a chance.
Took UT about 20 mins before they figured out BG. They basically moved it at will after that.

I'lI be making the trip to Athens. I have no idea what to expect. This may be the most unpredictable BG team I can remember. It seems like if things don't go well and we get down early, we tend to go into the fetal position, close our eyes and just wait for it to be over, but if we come out and smack them early and get on top, we may battle to the end. I hope we get the BG team that showed up last week and not the one from the week before.
At least the cold has moved out and it'll be a nice night to watch the game in person.
Go BG, whip the cats

Can't be in that region of Ohio without a stop in Athens for the best brewery in Ohio!Critical Thinker wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 6:17 pm I haven't seen a game at Peden, but the campus is gorgeous. Bring back some Jackie O's and a win Freak.
Just win...just win. I don't care who plays for OU, just find a way to win. Start by formulating a gameplan like last week where you actually let your playmakers make plays. We have plenty of them when we're not afraid to let them play.

Rumors on the Bobkitties board that Rourke is out tonight and may be out the remainder of the season.
