Wonder who Cincy is targeting since Deion to Colorado and Golesh to USF?

Saw article mentioning Sean Lewis and Candle. That would be surprising to me.

Hartline issued a statement on Thursday that acknowledged there was interest from other schools but he had no plans to leave Ohio State any time soon. Doesn’t mean it’s impossible, but seems pretty unlikely at this point.

Liberty is hiring Jamey Chadwell from Coastal Carolina.

I've heard so many coaches say they have no interest in leaving a school and unfinished business talk. Days later they're gone. They probably have a verbal agreement in place but not announcing anything until after the season.

We’ve had coaches do that. I feel like Urban did this as did Babers.

Urban definitely did this. Days before he left, the Sentinel-Tribune quoted him to the effect that he wasn't going anywhere and he still had a lot to accomplish in Bowling Green. I can probably dig out the direct quote if anyone is really interested.

I think there's a chance he gave that interview before he was contacted by Utah. Even so, yeah, that stung. Badly.

I was thinking of Urban when I wrote that. I believe he said unfinished business and poof he was gone.

Just looked up the BG News article from Dec. 12, 2002

"Last week, Urban Meyer said he had "unfinished business" to take care of as a coach. Most people in northwest Ohio thought he meant at Bowling Green, and at that point, he probably did.

But early yesterday, his unfinished business took a 1,500-mile detour westward to Salt Lake City, where he accepted an offer to become the head football coach at the University of Utah. The sudden departure and reversal of sentiment by Meyer was formally addressed yesterday by Bowling Green Director of Athletics Paul Krebs."

Chadwell going to Liberty doesn’t make sense except for the huge pay bump. Goes from around $1 to 4 million year.

Huge pay bump makes plenty of sense lol.

Tim Beck replacing him at Coastal.

In football, Liberty is trying to build itself into the evangelical Notre Dame or Brigham Young. The way they are throwing around they might pull it off.

I’d be pretty underwhelmed by this if I were a Cincy fan. Satterfield hasn’t exactly lit up the ACC.
