It’s gotta be because of the money. But it says a lot about the MAC that our HC salaries are half that of P5 coordinators. Makes it almost impossible to hire someone that you can feel confident about becoming a good HC.
It may be that that he also felt he wasn't going to be able to move the needle much more at Kent State.

It seems to me he's a very good coach. We saw what the Flashes did to us this season. But he faced some challenges there, including a brutal schedule.

When I saw Liberty was paying its HC $5 million per year I was shocked. I understand Liberty has some deep pockets and wants to be a major player but I just had no idea it was paying that much for its coach. Not sure how the MAC will continue to compete.
Going from OC at Cuse to HC to OC at Colorado seems like a weird trajectory. He took a paycut to become HC at Kent, so I figured that's because he really wanted to run his own program. I'm guessing either he's tired of toiling at an under funded place, OR Primetime was able to offer him something he couldn't refuse. If Deion is making $5MM a year, he's probably able to offer 1.2-1.5 a year to his coordinators, which is about a 3x raise.

The deep pockets thing is exactly what sets Liberty apart. I'm actually surprised that Miami (OH) hasn't been able to do something similar with the net worth of their alumni. All it takes is a billionaire or two to completely bankroll a program at Liberty's level.

I get it...Brohm was the man when he played at Louisville. But nonetheless...losing your coach to an ACC program has to sting for Purdue

Great hire for Louisville, I think. The resources and facilities at Louisville are much better that what Purdue currently has.

It's his alma mater and his hometown. I wouldn't read too much into it.
