Shooting woes.

Post by Diemilkweed »

Can our guys not shoot, or do we just not get the many decent shots? Just look at the shooting percentages. Aside from Turner and Towns, this looks just like the Orr years. and since Towns scores so little, he still fits the bill. Did MIlls and Matheney really completely forget how to shoot when they got here?

How much of this do we have to take before they hire a real f***ing coach?

This issue has come up before. Our offense doesn't do anything to create shots. Our guys get very few clean looks. Guys don't move without the ball, and ball movement around the offense is weak.

Maybe we could snatch Grinnell’s coach away from rural Iowa?

What’s the worst that could happen? Lose, but lose in an entertaining fashion? I’d bet attendance would take off. Maybe this is how to put BG on the map in men’s hoops.

I'm down. At least it would mean entertaining ball with an actual offensive philosophy.

Looking at results of other MAC basketball teams it appears the “ usual suspects”, Kent, Toledo, and OU are perhaps stronger than usual. All playing a TOUGH schedule and playing big name teams ( Gonzaga, Duke etc) close even though not wins. This will make them even stronger for the MAC season. Guess another reason for us to toughen up our schedule if we really want to compete.
