In their diatribe to the team on the evils of the portal, they mentioned that they offer kids when their names pop up in the portal, sight unseen, with no film review. I guess this was meant to scare our players off from testing the waters; but it also begs the question why? So many ego driven decisions and actions from them.guest44 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 9:26 amNobody s**t talked the process like Scot Loeffler. He is still selling an outdated process, an outdated offense, while offering every offensive lineman in the portal and it still doesn’t fix it.Flipper wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 7:12 am I think there's a certain level of hypocrisy in s**t talking the process in one breath while participating in it with the next.
It's like that line from "North Dallas 40". "When I say it's a game, you say it's a business, when I treat it like a business, you say its a game"

He has posted about offers from Chattanooga and SEMO. Decent FCS programs. Best of luck to him.roguewarrior wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 10:05 am I think Sheppard has some irons in the fire. Wish him well! Good kid.

They TOOK the TE transfer from MSU, who has come and gone, sight unseen. I would love to know who sold them the bag of sand on that one.

Re: 2022 Transfer Portal
To be fair, aren't most schools taking players sight unseen? A majority of these kids who are transferring got little to no playing time. Likely isn't much film sitting out there ready to be dissected.roguewarrior wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 11:33 amThey TOOK the TE transfer from MSU, who has come and gone, sight unseen. That is a fair point...you would hope they are trying to find HS footage at least

Re: 2022 Transfer Portal
Probably what most are going off of, unless some coaches are willing to vouch for specific players, but I could only see that happening if said kid is for sure going to play at a P5 program. We've offered a kid from Buffalo and I doubt Linguist is calling up Loeffler raving about how good he is...

It may be. You would hope they are educated decisions. Maybe another reason to pull back the reigns and say whoa…… before getting too excited about incoming transfers.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 11:41 amTo be fair, aren't most schools taking players sight unseen? Re: 2022 Transfer Portal
I’m guessing rather than taking kids “ sight unseen” we’d be offering based on prior recruitment of kids who went elsewhere. Then we DO have some frame of reference.
Won’t hold true on all cases obviously, but makes sense.

Re: 2022 Transfer Portal
It’s not the talent at question. It’s the baggage most have. We just spent 4 years purging the system of most of the knuckle heads. There are probably 300 DBs in the conventional portal, and a plethora of unsigned HS kids…
