Buffalo held on to win 23-21.

MAC is 3-2 in bowls this year, with just Ohio left to play.

A few guys have talked about how BAD the MAC Is this year… now, having watched many games involving a LOT of 6-6, 7-5 teams do the MAC teams look that bad? Miami lost a close game, stopped on2 yd line at end. BG seemed to play tight for 1 st half, perhaps trying to adjust w/o QB… then looked like different team in 2nd half. A bit more speed at LB might have caught the NMU QB on those scrambles.

WMU looked to be most impressive, UT had pretty solid outing , UB looked pretty decent today other than not finishing drives well, settling for FG ( from a solid kicker). This leaves OU left to try to finish off a pretty respectable bowl season for the conference.

My point is perhaps we’re not as far off as we thought overall. Loeffler’s comments about 6-6 teams were a bit “ overstated “ but honestly I haven’t been overly impressed with most teams that I’ve had time to watch.

61, I’ll own my comments. I’m definitely one that has said the MAC is bad on here. And while I still think that’s true to an extent, I’ve also come to realize that our weakness relative to other conferences isn’t as bad as I thought. If we continue to put less resources into football than other G5 conferences, though, the gap will continue to expand - but we’re still basically just as mediocre as any middling Sun Belt, C-USA, or MWC team.
