Coaches can reach out to guys in portal via text/phone/social media etc just no in person visits right now.

With NCAA waiving 56 OV limit, they need to address recruiting calendar next.

Dead period may not apply to grad transfers. Was always confused on that one.

Everyone went home for Christmas. Not sure anyone from the staff is running into the office to put player x into the portal.
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.

It’s been strangely quiet since the game ended, considering how much we’ve heard about a mass exodus here.

Just weird.

Don't they usually just announce it on twitter themselves.

Honestly it doesn’t really matter who stays, goes, or transfers in. They won’t be coached well enough to win.

If I was the AD and we had the money Loeffler would be done. At the very least I would make him hire an OC with a new offensive scheme. I’d rather watch us implement the triple option, than have to watch Loeffler call plays again next year.

I somehow get the feeling that nothing is going to happen until after the Holiday...Loeffler's contract, transfer portal activity etc...

I agree that it's clear Loeffler isn't the long-term answer, but 0% chance a new AD would come in and make that move after a first bowl appearance in 7 years, especially with 20,000 fans showing up in Detroit. He has been vocal about his support of Loeffler, and the same has not been the case with Huger, so I'd say it's clear who the focus is on right now. In fact, I'd say Huger and Eigner are both behind Loeffler in terms of job security.

Total guess, but my prediction is a one-year extension (or two-year with a 50% buyout) and a 6-6 season or worse next year gets him the boot.

I certainly understand what you are saying and don’t disagree it’s a tough spot for the AD who started in November.
As far as an extension goes, I don’t see one good reason to do it unless there is almost no buyout for any of the years. BG hands out more extensions to “revenue” coaches who haven’t earned them. No reason to put yourself in a situation like that with a coach who has no other offers, and who you wouldn’t be upset if he left anyway. You’d actually be happy

The only way I see SL not coming back with a couple years tacked onto his deal is he overplays his hand on an extension and demands too much and/or there's a mutiny in the program....the former being like a million times more likely than the latter.

Probably….

The 2023 roster with recruits added
The 2023 Recruiting with signings, reported commits and Xfer offers. We didn't add HS offers as that would take forever.
JPFalcon and I can add any updates and changes.

I am going to add a sheet on coaching staff as well.

You can update spreadsheet with below:

JB Brown Portal.

No QB on roster named Anderson. Only Orth and Bainbridge left thru today.

WR Room emptying: Gone are Croom, Rogers, Niehoff, Cook , CJ lewis, Hoskins …. Broden likely to Portal.

Lawler and Bacon done.

Couple more talking portal….

After the bowl game, my first thought was Broden was going to be gone. He has the skills and body for a big-time program to want him. He can get some NIL money and better prepare for the NFL. I think he's going to be playing on Sundays.

The cynic in me says the WR depletion was the motivation for SL's sudden interest in running the ball

My thought Exactly!! I think 5 bodies right now for spring. That’s impossible to practice.

I think he wants to put an emphasis on running the ball because we’re currently very bad at it. But that’s a fair point. Lol

Who are the 5, by your count? Just checking out the roster now and even after those subtractions, I’m counting 7 - OJ Hiliare, Tae’shaun Johnson, Austin Osborne, Trey Johnson, Jaden McKinstry, Jalen Holly, and Jhaylin Embry. Plus Shawn Thigpen and Jacob Harris in the incoming class.
