Since QB will likely be a hot button issue - here are the uncommitted QBs in the portal as of today. Likely to change. I'd say anyone above Bowman is probably not going to entertain any offers from G5 programs.

Sam Hartman, Wake
Brennan Armstrong, Virginia
Spencer Sanders, OK State
Jay Butterfield, Oregon
Hank Bachmeier, Boise State
Malik Hornsby, Arkansas
Mike Wright, Vanderbilt
Chance Nolan, Oregon State
Alan Bowman, Michigan
Braylon Braxton, Tulsa
Connor Bazelak, Indiana
Chandler Roger, UL-Monroe
Luther Richesson, Cincinnati
Zach Calzada, Auburn
Taisum Phommachanh, GA Tech
Maddox Kopp, Colorado

I wouldn't even give it a thought because I couldn't possibly care less, but for the kids we're recruiting it might actually be a thing. Nebraska lists both the twitter and instagram handles for that Logan Smothers kid on their roster bio page.

BG does nothing of the sort.

Even if kids aren't future professional athletes building their brand and getting their name/personality out there is one of the great benefits of playing college sports. The dept should absolutely look at something like that and get it added to our roster pages.
Their personal Twitter and Instagram profiles are up. I looked a player up a few days ago.

QB Peter Costelli is also uncommitted....he's an interesting guy to watch as he's from Matt Mcdonald's and Osborne's HS stomping grounds in Mission Viejo

Because we already had Matt McDonald dummy
Can you cook up a depth chart where either JJ McCarthy, Caleb Williams and or Quinn Ewers transfer in? I’ve got my BGSU special agents working behind the scenes.

Look at the football roster pages again. Their personal Twitter and Instagram profiles are up. I looked a player up a few days ago.
Good!

I checked a few in both hoops and football and didn't see any. But obviously not everybody would have one, or even want it up.

I retract my statement.

Are we saying Orth is leaving or that we think he isn't the right guy. I thought he showed promise.

I thought he looked pretty solid in limited action this year as well, but most around here seem to think we’re moving on. I’m not so sure.

Orth rallied the team in the bowl game...and he seems to be more of a running threat than MM was. Do not want to go into the season with only Orth, Bainbridge (no snaps) and a true freshman at QB.

Lets say we land Logan Smothers
Terion Stewart comes back

QB1: JR Logan Smothers: https://huskers.com/sports/football/ros ... hers/44664
QB2: FR Lucian Anderson
RB1-RB5: Stewart, Patterson, Johnson, Keith, Mosley
WR: Hilaire?-Embry
WR: Ibrahim
WR: Osborne-Grguric
Slot WR/Wing Back: Keith
TE: Fanin
TE: Gazarek

that offense is fine.
Not with a hodge-podge offensive line.
[/quote]

Definitely not running Scot Loeffler’s offense with him calling the plays.

It would be nice to see a dynamic QB with some running ability…unfortunately we’ll end up with the guys that have zero options and can’t play.

Zach Calzada, Auburn
Taisum Phommachanh, GA Tech
Maddox Kopp, Colorado
Bazelek is from Dayton. That might help.

A guy I really like who doesn't appear to be in the portal is Holy Cross QB Matthew Sluka. He is more of a runner.

The Receivers coach and passing game coordinator at Holy Cross is Rich Gunnel. Gunnel was the WR coach under Loefler at Boston College.

Sluka isn't a prototype but he would be fun. And a great bridge to Anderson.

I'd love to see some change up in the offensive leadership. Maybe bring in Gunnel along with Sluka.

We are already in on their WR
https://goholycross.com/sports/football ... ante/13129
https://rutgerswire.usatoday.com/2022/1 ... er-portal/

Their top WR was https://goholycross.com/sports/football ... oker/13136

The 3rd WR is in the portal https://goholycross.com/sports/football ... oker/13136

You could pull a Western Kentucky....Nab the passing game Coordinator, QB and 3 WRs....or maybe just 2 if Coker isn't going anywhere.

Guest will have a fit if a Holy Cross QB ends up being picked up. I almost want it to happen now just to see the posts.

Because that's the same thing as a FCS guy?

Settle down Francis.
