Big Opening Game Against Ball State

Post by fredthefalcon »

BG takes on 10-3 Ball State at 6:30P. Likely one of our toughest tasks being its at Muncie. I know we thrashed them once last year early before losing the second one. Let's start it out that way again!!!

Tough first half for BG, but hanging tough....down 59-52 3rd.

And this NBA crap playing canned music every stoppage of play is annoying.

BG down 76-71, 1:30 left. This team does not quit.

Tough loss tonight.

Came out on fire but couldn't sustain it. Fought till the end and gave us chances down the stretch.

Post defense and side help was a glaring weakness. Too many layups given up. Foul trouble didn't help either.

Really tough game to watch. BG missed A LOT of shots in the paint. 37% shooting overall with Tate and Fleming going a combined 2-15. Officials made this game really hard to watch as well. Too many touch fouls. Brett fouled out with only 14 minutes playing time.

At the same time, this team plays hard and doesn't give up. Day and Hampton played extremely well and Fleming energy was great (not so much on her shooting). I have no doubt payback will be had when Ball State comes to the Stroh on 3/1.

The MAC is an incredibly deep and strong conference in WBB. It should be a 2-3 bid league but likely won't be because it isn't nationally viewed as such. Hopefully the Falcons can get back on track with a couple home games against EMU & CMU. I don't think any team will run the table. I could see a 3-4 loss team having the #1 seed this year.

Agreed tough loss but nothing to be too concerned about. Just a rough shooting night on the road against the defending MAC runner. BSU returned a ton from last year and were picked to finish 2nd again this year (we were picked 3rd).
