vs EMU 1/7
vs EMU 1/7
Falcons get back on track with a nice win over EMU. Pretty much led wire-to-wire but let them hang around due to some sloppy stretches leading to some extended emu runs. Need to play in better control if they want to win the MAC.

I thought the end of the bench that finished up the last 5 minutes of this one particularly played badly and out of control I get that they want to score but they were jacking up shots, committing fouls, etc. I wondered for a while if EMU was going to get within 10 but a couple foul shots stopped their run.

Agreed 100% -- It was a 27-point lead midway through the fourth quarter when BG emptied the bench. I don't think they made a field goal in the rest of the game (close to 5 minutes). They had really good starts to the first and third quarters today, though. Allison Day was tremendous, and Brett and Hampton had very good games as well.fredthefalcon wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 5:56 pmI thought the end of the bench that finished up the last 5 minutes of this one particularly played badly and out of control I get that they want to score but they were jacking up shots, committing fouls, etc. I wondered for a while if EMU was going to get within 10 but a couple foul shots stopped their run.

Re: vs EMU 1/7
I went back and read the play by play to see just how bad they played. Well they went 3 1/2 minutes without scoring in the final 4:41 before hitting 4 FTs in the last minute. The bench was 0 for 10 from the field during this time and Velasco missed 2 straight FTs during the drought. Is it that concerning -No but if we need any help past the top 8 which does include Velasco, I have limited confidence in the remainder players. That includes Hemphling. Has she been injured in the off season. She seems to not be playing the same type game she used to. More of less standing outside waiting for a 3 point shot.threestooges wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 11:55 pmAgreed 100% -- It was a 27-point lead midway through the fourth quarter when BG emptied the bench.
