Wow, wasn’t expecting that. Good for the kid to have a pro opportunity, but I’m not sure what happened that would’ve caused him to leave during the season.pdt1081 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 02, 2023 8:54 amApparently playing in the ECHL now.mbenecke wrote: ↑Mon Jan 02, 2023 7:40 am #8 Chrys Collin is no longer listed on the roster. He hadn’t played a ton yet this year (injury, I thought?), but it’s interesting me that he’s not listed there anymore. Anyone know anything or have any guesses? I think he last played in the St. Thomas series back in November.

Re: 2022-2023 Season
Let me preface this by saying I have no insights whatsoever. With that out of the way, He had surgery in the offseason which kept him out of the lineup at the start of the season. Ty mentioned early in his career here that English is not his primary language and he had to work hard at the schoolwork. I vaguely remember he turned down a USHL team to play his last year of juniors closer to home (someone can check me on that). If he's in the ECHL, the least surprising team to me would be Trois-Rivières. I like his game - he has some wheels. He was one who was in and out of the lineup but I found myself pulling for him. Wish him the best.mbenecke wrote: ↑Mon Jan 02, 2023 9:07 amWow, wasn’t expecting that. I'm thinking maybe RM opens on the road at BG on Friday, with Saturday's game in Pittsburgh. Robert Morris' announcement is that October 7 is their home opener, first home game in over 937 days.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 8:37 pm Next year news but it was announced today that BG will open next year on the road at Robert Morris. Their first game back in the D1 game.
All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.

Swankler named "Forward of the Month" by both the CCHA and the Hockey Commissioners Association.

Stoever also the Player of the Week for the CCHA. Both he and Swankler are having great seasons.

With a guy like Swankler it’s so disappointing that we’re below .500. Reminds me of Sean Walker’s last season, you had a legit NHL blue line with him and Friedman yet we were pretty pedestrian the most of the 2016-17 season
Re: 2022-2023 Season
Looking at the +/- column tells a large part of that story.

Are they just going to promote Buddy Powers from volunteer coach or will they bring someone in?pdt1081 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 11, 2023 7:52 pm Number of paid coaches increases to 4 on July 1st.

Mike McMahon wrote that he expects most programs to make their Director of Hockey Ops as the third coach to save money. Those guys are already involved with much of the day-to-day stuff but they have some restrictions currently as it pertains to recruiting and on-ice activities. This change would obviously eliminate all that.mbenecke wrote: ↑Wed Jan 11, 2023 9:14 pmAre they just going to promote Buddy Powers from volunteer coach or will they bring someone in?pdt1081 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 11, 2023 7:52 pm Number of paid coaches increases to 4 on July 1st.

Stoever added to the Richter Watch List...along with like 30 other goaltenders from around college hockey.

Over on the USCHO Mankato thread I found the following:
njmav1 repliedToday, 04:51 PMI listened to the MSU radio broadcast. They mentioned a couple of interesting things.Originally posted by Sol Diablo
Your team totally dominated the second game. I think the Mavericks were better in game one than the score showed. Too bad both teams had key players out due to injury, but that's sports. Congratulations going forward, hope we play another series next year!
The first is that both teams want to continue scheduling each other. The second is that CCHA commissioner Lucia attended the series.

I thought the whole point of restarting the CCHA was to not play teams in states that begin and end in 'A' anymore.
