New QB transferred in from Boston College - Daelen Menard. No stats to speak of so this is probably for depth.

You just knew another BC quarterback would find his way to Bowling Green.

Because the old ones weren't that great and the new ones can be?

Seems like you answer the question with your post.

Your current girlfriend is awful, but now you just dump her and try to meet someone new hoping for a different result....Yes. That's the point.

They were brought in because they were supposed to be an improvement over the previous guys...so we're going to keep on cycling in talent recruited and coached by the same guys who've proven they either can't identify or develop OL talent

I looked at this guy a bunch before. He was a walk on and may still have been. Probably had been in the recruiting process with Loeffler before he left.

Better than recruiting a bunch of freshmen and throwing them out there in September. Every program is going through its own challenges, some fewer than others but the offseason is still young. If anything it's a good thing the guys who left did so in December/January so the staff could have plenty of time to find bodies to replace them. Undoubtedly some programs are going to see attrition following spring ball and that's really going to put them in a very difficult position.

What a story. Even if he's being brought in to help Bazelak learn the offense since he likely has some familiarity with it, that is a win in my book. He had an impressive track record in high school. Even so, some competition at QB this summer will be a very good thing after McDonald basically had carte blanche the past few years.

Bringing in a better coach that the university probably can't afford given the limited resources for the assistant coaches pool.

The revolving door is here to stay until either the NCAA grows a pair and begins to enforce this nonsense, or another governing body takes over FBS.

A better OL coach with input on recruiting.

Good Offensive line play in college and even the NFL in certain spots is recruiting young talent and having them grow/develop for a year or two and then be ready to contribute. Part of Loeffler’s job is to convince some of these kids to stick around and develop.
My guess is the kids probably don’t feel they are actually being developed and more just being told how it’s their fault the offense sucks. Thus you see kids looking to get out even if it is a lower level.
I agree with Flipper…we basically just throw a bunch of s**t at the wall and hope something sticks.

i get why people are frustrated but as a fan of NFL and NBA offseasons......this is way more fun than just signing a bunch of dudes one day in February having 2/3rds of them flake out before they make an impact and being terrible anyway. Used correctly I think this could be great. I am really excited about our QB room now.

I read a great article once about a rowing coach in college who would wait outside the baseball locker room after team cuts and recruit. Seemed brilliant to me. This relates

In a sense this is how we got our freshman QB. And he looks like a stud.
