Typical game against a Rico coached team. You cannot approach the game with the mentality of "stay out of the box." They are going to be physical and you have to give it back. Bemidji brought the physical game last week and BG was prepared to give it right back to them. Last night, they didn't want to get hit. Long bus ride, short week, whatever. It's hockey, not figure skating.

And I'll add that while Bemidji brought a physical game, it was a very clean game. The Tommies don't have the discipline to bring a clean physical game. A lot of their hits didn't connect, but definitely affected BG's willingness to be there.

Lots of press for the program ahead of the St. Thomas series, not surprised to see a subpar effort. Guys looked tired after the 1st period. Absolutely need to get a split tonight.

I was expecting this loss.

It's how this program has gone for years now. Get some big wins, get in good position, then lose games you have no business losing.

Team has talent. They're just not very tough. S Schneider and Pitters as the extra skater was a game time decision last night. I understand playing Schneider betting close to home for him, but definitely needed the physicality from Pitters.

I'll continue to maintain it's a sign of poor leadership.

2 St. Thomas goons jump our guy, we stand up for ourselves, and we end up sent to the box with St. Thomas on the PP. What the hell?

BGSU Goal: Nathan Burke follows his own rebounds and puts BG up 1-0 with 8:30 to play in the first.

St. Thomas gets one back. Starting to feel a little bit like last night.

2-1 Falcons with 6:30 to play in the middle frame.
