Restarting the CCHA was about playing teams that knew they were playing the season before September. Not excited about Augie or ASU joining, but don't really get a say either.Critical Thinker wrote: ↑Sun Jan 15, 2023 7:49 pm I thought the whole point of restarting the CCHA was to not play teams in states that begin and end in 'A' anymore.

Re: 2022-2023 Season
I was fiddling around with a "what if" spreadsheet see what various combinations of wins/losses by various combinations of teams would result in a particular end-of-season result. Halfway through I figured out I could make some changes and publish it for your calculating pleasure. So, without further ado, here's a link to a Google Sheet that will allow you to pick a winner of any remaining CCHA game and see the impact on the standings.
The default basically assumes the currently higher ranked team wins all games over lower ranked teams (i.e. Lakers lose every game, Mankato wins every game). I entered scores as 1-0 to make things easier, you can put whatever number you want in the cell. The reset button will allow you to run multiple scenarios. I'm also curious as to what scenarios people think are likely to happen.
Let me know if it doesn't work, it's sometimes tricky getting permissions and sheet protections correct.

If you're doing the vote for Hobey Baker thing, watch out as the way the candidates are presented on the voting page stinks. The selection is ABOVE the player photo, not below. Try not to vote for the Niagara guy who on my page is directly below Swanks.
You'd think they could figure out a simple thing like this.

Mike McMahon released his updated conference standing projections - he has BG ending up 3rd and hosting NMU in the first round.

And by extension, Miami should have never joined the NCHC. That program is dead in the water given the behemoths they have to compete against in league play. Don't blame Berge for leaving, more money and the opportunity to turn around his alma mater, but I'd agree it would appear his time in Miami is probably coming to an end in the next couple years.unfalconbelievable wrote: ↑Tue Jan 31, 2023 9:30 pmTalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Sat Jan 28, 2023 10:16 pm Bergeron lost 4-1 last night and 8-0 tonight at home against Nodak. Really feel for Berge. It was the right time and the right place, but it was doomed before he got there. Agree with the above sentiment - Miami the NCHC was never going to work.

He has the rest of this year plus two more. Do they even have enough cash to buy him out early?pdt1081 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 01, 2023 9:23 amHe's what, $400k/year there?
