SL is so compassionate...

Post by Flipper »

He doesn't hold any grudges against he players who xferred out...

The Blade kid covering the team seems to have drank the Kool Aid...he refers to the dozen or more guys who have left as a "fair amount" when its 10-15% of the roster
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Wonder if that's the viewpoint behind closed doors.

There's been like four people on the BG beat with the Blade since the summer. They're on the cheap now so not surprising they probably plucked some young guy fresh out of college to cover things. If it wasn't for Buckeye Broadband the paper would have been shuttered years ago.

Can't read this one behind the paywall, but so far I've liked this guy who is covering BG at the Blade. He's well out of college and was at two other local papers before coming to The Blade. The kid that was there before (after Nick P) was a fresh grad and it showed. I think Burwell has written some good stuff and seems to be a lot more informative.

I have heard other people just pull it up.....really quickly hold down your mouse button and highlight as much text as you can. Paste it into a word doc. Rinse and repeat

This new guy is fantastic.

I think that was me that said that! I tried doing it this time but they may have gotten wise because it was immediate this time.

On my phone, I just set Safari to Reader mode once the article comes up. That seems to disable a lot of things on the page, including the auto-redirect.

Or you could just give them $1.00 to read the paper....

Between the paper where I live, my hometown paper, and NYT, I can't justify doing any other payments.

I think it’s $1 for one-time access on a single day.

For digital access, I’m seeing $12.99 per month and $129.99 for a year.

When I see a BG story that interests me...I just pay them.

That "fair amount of transfers" thing kinda bugged me....it's more than that and a cause for concern for 2023

Im not concerned. Most weren't underclassmen who were part of the long term plan.
