Big men are valuable in the MAC if they are good. Like Hammb said, the problem is you don’t need 5 or 6 of them on the roster. You need a good starter, who brings some value around the rim on both ends…a capable backup who can give you 10-15 min a game where he just hustles, battles on the boards, set picks, protect the rim and occasionally hit an open shot. Then have one or two additional big men on the roster to hopefully develop into contributors. The worst thing you can do is fill your roster with bigs who are so soft or so raw you can’t play them now or see them eventually figuring it out down the line.
There is just no excuse for these guys at all positions not to improve. Either the kids aren’t working hard enough, its coaching, or its both. I’m heavily in the its the coaching camp. My guess is with competent coaching this team even with its flaws could be a top 5 team with a chance in the tournament. Which isn’t saying much with the MAC this year, but still it’s obvious the team underachieves.

Didn't we see what a good coach could do with the team when Chris Jans was here? Or was Richaun just buried in Orr's nightmare?
Something elevated that team to greater play...and yes I still see that over and back call in my nightmares.

We did see what a good coach looked like with Jans. It's why the decade of Michael Huger will feel like such a complete waste of time.
