McComb played in garbage time. Etim played in the first half and managed zero stats, meanwhile Diarra played one possession and picked up a silly foul and was immediately pulled to put Etim back in. Once again, no Curtis. He played this past Saturday, right?
Curtis did play on Saturday, but unfortunately like every other talented ball handler that Huger gets his grips on he has absolutely destroyed Curtis's game. He's now a major negative player on the court, so it doesn't even matter. Maybe he's hurt, maybe he's being punished, maybe it's another in a long line of kids just getting tired of being with Huger's s**t. I dunno, but he's a guy that showed some promise (although there was a reason he ended up here). Now he's just awful. The shot selection has always been bad, but now everything with him seems pre-determined. Rather than reading plays/court it just seems like he's made up his mind whether he's going to drive/shoot/pass before he even makes his first move. He's got a quick enough step to get to the basket, but with our no movement offense his looks are always contested and he's never shown a penchant for making them... He's far less efficient this year than he was last year, which was less efficient than he was at Evansville.

I don't think Ayers has eligibility left after this season (although with COVID rules who the hell knows). Safe money, if he does, he'll be far less efficient next year.

Even worse neither Curtis nor Ayers give a flying eff about defense. They're brutally bad, and to really compound things, they play even worse defense when they are actually scoring well. It's like they say, "f**k it, I scored 2 who cares if I give up 2". Matheny has greatly improved his defense, but he's not athletic enough to stop any of the good guards so our perimeter defense is essentially garbage if we want to put any of our scorers on the floor. Agee's not an elite athlete or defender either; his game is entirely built on attitude and energy. As this season has gone off the rails (don't they all under Huger?) Agee is noticeably a lesser player now than he was early on. Not surprised, hard to come out with energy when they've been down by a dozen or more every game before he gets on the floor.

ALl you need to know is that our DRting is now #337 of 363 while playing the 270th best schedule. I have to think that puts our actual defense probably near the bottom of the barrel in all of college basketball. Which is hardly surprising since we don't have a single high end defender and I'd put guys like Ayers, Curtis, and Elsasser as some of the very worst defensive basketball players we've ever put on the court. Matheny has quick hands, but when he's not getting steals he's right there with them because his feet are simply not quick enough.

This team, this program, this coach. All a dumpster fire.

Taking a slight break from the well-earned bashing of Huger, what's the deal with Kent's attendance last night? 1,600 for a team coming in 18-5? I know Kent isn't a metropolis and it's a Tuesday, but damn. I feel like even BG could get 2,300-2,500+ if they were playing at that level, especially with the more sustained success that Kent has had.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

For the first time in a while, I did not make the 20 min drive to Kent. I knew what was going to happen....and I doubt I'll go to the Akron game at the JAR. It is embarrassing...

We got out rebounded by 20....we gave up 87 points again. Defense and rebounding take effort and this team won't do it. I am so tired of BG Men's hoops being a train wreck. Get a coach that cares and can motivate. Huger is a nice guy and a Falcon but he isn't close to being a good coach.

Has Kent ever had really good attendance in sporting events? Honestly, I don't recall that being the case.

Yes, it is a dumpster fire, but it is our dumpster fire and I will keep attending games to watch it go up in flames.

Same. I TRIED to not go this year. I just failed...when it came down to the final days I caved and re-upped my season tickets and have again made it to most of the games missing only a handful of the crap OOC games. Even when we're not there I watch on the stream when I can. I like BG basketball and can't quit it. But damn is it BAD basketball most of the time!

Maybe a 12-step program for Falcon addicts? Friends of Bill F. Yeah, that might do it. ESPN- and I had a parting of the ways. I can't watch old streams and I can't stream in real time. May as well just listen to the men's games on Eagle99 and watch the stats.

Some of the Women's games are on 3. I can get that.
