Re: vs. NMU (2/24-25)
In most hockey games I watch whether it’s college, ECHL, or NHL, teams push that puck up ice with speed. We retreat behind our net and let the opponent change lines and set up their defense making it quite challenging for us to make it through the neutral zone. Frustrating to watch. Wozny had a tough night. WTF game were the refs watching at the end because it sure wasn’t ours.
Yeah. We finished third. Woo hoo. (Sigh)

TommyG, get that 3rd place trophy out of storage! We’re going to Brathaus!

McInchak. He was horrible in the 90s, and still hasn't changed. Someone asked Eigner about it in the post game. He was obviously frustrated, and not with his players.
Coyle is probably done for the year. 5 healthy D is going to make things difficult.

Usually it's our defense, but watching our offense is brutal.
Twice I saw Swankler try to go 1 on 3 with no help. He knows that if he doesn't score they don't score, he's got no sidekick to help him out. This ain't good. I wasn't there for the 1st period and asked someone, how did we score in the first, did they pull their goalie? Even on the power play we often can't even get a shot. Hard to watch.

In all seriousness finishing 3rd is the teams only chance at a playoff title. I don’t think they’ll do it, but they had no chance to go to Mankato and win twice. If things fall right, BG could win a home series, win at Tech and win one game at Mankato. It’s a very thin, thin chance, but it’s a chance.
Outside of that, this program continues to disappoint. Better be careful or they are going to completely slip into irrelevance.

Fyten listed as a defenseman tonight, replacing Coyle. Emerson is the extra skater, replacing Pfoh.

The poor defensive slot coverage continues to drive me nuts.

Benched the best player in the league for the last 10 minutes of the game. Great job, coach. Stupidest thing I've ever seen.

Looking forward to Eigner's contract being up. This program needs an overhaul in the worst way. Consistently not meeting expectations year after year. Would not be shocked if Ferris sweeps next weekend.

Re: vs. NMU (2/24-25)
Ferris is slumping even worse than us at the moment. This weekend they were swept by Lake State, who have been in the bottom 5 of Pairwise all season, and the weekend prior they gave up 17 goals. For as bad as we are I still think we have to be the clear favorites.
Re: vs. NMU (2/24-25)
Can someone explain to me how we hit post, then celebrate because the goal light goes off, and then NMU scores an empty netter the other way, and there’s no review?
I just… I don’t get it. The goal light went off and our guys were celebrating. How can play continue when there are off ice factors at play here? And why wouldn’t they even look at it?
We’re obviously so mediocre it hurts. But I would just like an explanation of what the hell happened there.

The good news: we aren't Tech fans. Ouch. That's gonna leave a mark.

As long as no official on ice blows the puck dead then the game continues. Best guess is the in-zone referee saw it didn't go in. The goal judge flipping the light on doesn't really mean anything.mbenecke wrote: ↑Sat Feb 25, 2023 10:25 pm Can someone explain to me how we hit post, then celebrate because the goal light goes off, and then NMU scores an empty netter the other way, and there’s no review?
