If a buyout isn't an issue this is a great day.
DM me and I will tell you who I told they were going after.

Re: Ohio
It looked like Samari Curtis took the team on his back in this game. I don’t think anyone asked him to do that, and we might have been better off if he hadn’t. I’m not sure how else you explain 3/15 shooting. At one point, before the benches were emptied, he was 2/13 for 5 points.
ROLL ALONG!!!

This entire program needs to be wiped and then a fresh start with a solid hire needs to happen.

It was bad in 2018 back when an employee of BGSU used to come on here and argue with me about how clueless Moosbrugger and Hughes were. That person is long gone, and Rodney Rogers let the s**t show go on. This is nothing unexpected. None of it.

Re: Ohio
On the men's side, I would agree. Football is coming back, but was a total dumpster fire. Hoops needs totally rebuilt. Hockey isn't inspiring. But Soccer is solid and Baseball will have a good season.
Women's side? We kick ass with hoops, soccer, volleyball.
But 3 bad AD's in a row and others in the AD that shouldn't be there is the biggest issue.

Football is in line for a major regression this year...
Love that hoops, soccer an VB are doing so well on the women's side. But the marquee programs in the dept are at best mediocre and at worst God awful

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

I honestly had no idea the game was yesterday. That's how far my interest has fallen. And I have been a fan since 1976.
Re: Ohio
Yeah, it is great that the premier women's programs are doing well. It's also great to see us turning around men's soccer a doing well in baseball. But ultimately an athletic department is going to be defined by the men's revenue sports, maybe women's hoops as well. At BG you can add hockey to the revenue sports.
I don't follow hockey closely but seems that those that do are less than enthused with it. The men's hoops is an absolute dumpster fire. Football, I tend to agree with you that last year's mediocrity is going to be the ceiling of this rebuild, but time will tell. It's somewhat encouraging to bring in an experienced QB, but I'm not overly optimistic.
Right now I'm encouraged by the new AD. It's going to take some time to right the ship, but I think he will. If he gets through this year by correctly canning Huger and holding off on a Loeffler extension I'll be very encouraged.

Re: Ohio
Hockey should be on his list, too. A coaching change is desperately needed if they have any hopes of getting to the next level -- and that would mean they'd actually be challenging for CCHA titles (as they did when I was in school and for many years after.) By next year at some point, there will hopefully be new coaches in the three biggest revenue sports at BGSU.hammb wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 12:45 pmYeah, it is great that the premier women's programs are doing well. Re: Ohio
Can we get the Frack descendants to re-appropriate the money? NIL money, a great collection of uniforms and shoes (new Chucks ain't inspiring today's 18-23 year-old and Huger seemed to understand this component), extra team activities, and recruiting budget in that order to move the program. And there is only enough Frack money to start this process, it's going to take more money to get this program to the levels Bill dreamed.
For $1 million the big time programs might come on a weeknight when the students are not on campus with the rights to 1/2 the tickets and free reign to recruit any player or players in the our program they deem useful for them. Bill Frack made a plan based on the past and the basketball world has only changed since then. Instead, find out where our recruits want to play a game and schedule 2-3 road games at Duke, Kansas, North Carolina, Kentucky, or wherever to make a little money while giving the players a great experience just like football goes to osu, Michigan, Notre Dame, etc.
