CCHA Quarterfinals vs. Ferris State (3/3-3/5)
Re: CCHA Quarterfinals vs. Ferris State (3/3-3/5)
Why do we have the same referee for every series against these guys?

Program was positioned to take the next step after Berge and they went the nepotism route by hiring an alumnus with no college head coaching experience to take over. Amazing how two alumni have run the men's basketball and hockey programs into the ground.

Was in the building tonight. Sitting straight across from Ferris bench.
1) That puck was leaving the zone easily without being interfered with
2) They had 3 guys standing at the door inside the zone that the puck hit. 2 who had already jumped on and two still on the ice. I count that as 7 skaters involved in the play. How it wasn’t called…..no idea.
That said….still blew the lead. However their kid made 3 huge saves that were game changers and playing with 5 D is tough especially when it goes to extra time.
Guess backs against the wall now…..

Berge also had no college head coaching experience, I think. Hiring alumni as coaches is overrated, except Jerry York, but he had already proven himself by the time BC hired him.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 03, 2023 10:32 pm Program was positioned to take the next step after Berge and they went the nepotism route by hiring an alumnus with no college head coaching experience to take over. I'm trying not to be negative but this is just so damn frustrating. Mistake after mistake. Pietela doesn't let that first one in. Mankato doesn't compound one mistake with another on their second goal. It's like we played well enough to win but didn't really deserve it.
We were filing out after the OT goal then stopped when it was clear there was going to be a review. Staring straight at the penalty box where the review was going on, one of the off-ice officials handed a book to the refs. The rule book perhaps? It was clear they did not want to overturn the goal and were looking for some way out of the mess they created by swallowing their whistles. So frustrating.

Squandering power play opportunities isn't the recipe for winning.

They must have been told that they should never push the puck up the ice and instead always retreat behind our net.

Free hockey. Ty may want to consider playing the OT with the extra attacker.
