Well that OT went as expected. 4 more power plays than Ferris tonight and we only had 3 more shots. 1/10 on the weekend on the PP, not great. 2 wins in the last 10 games and a 5 game losing streak to end the season.
Bring back the glory!

Blow it up.

Literally can’t wait for them to announce the schedule for 23-24. Buying seats as close to the ice as I can for that first home game so I can see them raise the 3rd place banner.

I’m so embarrassed to be a fan of this program right now. The past 2 seasons have been the least fun I have ever had following this team.
Please, someone, fix this.

Swept at home two weekends in a row to end the season. We waste the talents of a once-in-a-decade+ player with whatever scheme it is we play. The refs tried to make it up to us tonight. 0-for-5 on the power play with whatever scheme it is we're trying to run.
I was half serious about pulling the goaltender for the OT period.

Oh yeah, no doubt. I turned 25 today. I know it’s not near the dark ages this program once faced, but the standard for the program has fallen again. We’re officially mediocre and nobody is afraid to play us. That’s new for me.

Well, was in the building for both games. First time back since 2017.
Series basically came down to goaltending. Their kid is really good and ours is just average. 3 of the 6 goals they scored were pretty soft. You just can’t give up an OT series ender from 35 ft out on the half wall.
We basically had to have 6 skaters on the ice to get a puck past Ferris’ kid. I was right at the Zamboni gates on the Swankler breakaway. He literally caught that puck behind him…..crazy good save. Kid is HUGE and covers the whole bottom of the net. He made all the big saves and we gave up some bad ones……series over.
Don’t get me wrong though. This staff stinks….. and oh if we just would have paid for a real coach when Berge left. BG way though…..try to do it on the cheap. LOL.

3rd consecutive season with no playoff series win.
We haven’t won a home playoff series since 2019. Our next opportunity could be 2024 or even further in the future. Insane.
We haven’t won a playoff series period since March 2020 at Alaska, which occurred one week before the COVID pandemic started shutting things down.

Eigner’s contract is darn near identical to what Bergeron was making. Trying to save money was not why they hired Eigner and there was plenty of interest from good candidates from what they were paying. Hockey has enough resources to be contending yearly for CCHA titles. They just don’t. This league is perfect for a school like BG to be similar to what Mankato is or at least a notch below.AZIce wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 11:06 pm Well, was in the building for both games. Is it next year or the year after when we host the regionals in Toledo?

The year after. I was really hoping we would be playing. Now I’m just hoping we can win a single playoff game in the next few years, let alone a series.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 11:23 pm Is it next year or the year after when we host the regionals in Toledo?

Someone must have low expectations for the program. Raise the bar and expect more. Recent results speak for themselves, awful.Hockey John wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 11:10 pmYou sir have the IQ of a Fig Newton and the maturity level of a grade schooler. Grow up.
