......just in case you forgot, neither one of you two meatheads have a single damned thing to say about who we hire and why.

Would be an incredible hire as well. Has done it all a few times in the Patriot Leafje.

Re: Huger Fired
Just saw his contract extension there is through 2030, so I think the big obstacle there would be affording his buyout. Fantastic coach, though.OptionQB wrote: ↑Wed Mar 08, 2023 9:06 pm https://colgateathletics.com/sports/men ... angel/2131

I have a random name to throw out there. Tom Crean. He was terrible at Georgia but had some great years at Marquette and Indiana and is a hell of a recruiter. He’s also from Michigan and went to CMU, so he knows the MAC. I don’t think it would happen, but hey, this is the time to throw fun names out there, right?
Also, funny enough, Crean’s father-in-law is BG Alum, Jack Harbaugh.

I will just say that this is the most accurate response to any of my posts about the coaching search. Well done sir!BleedOrange wrote: ↑Wed Mar 08, 2023 8:19 pm ......just in case you forgot, neither one of you two meatheads have a single damned thing to say about who we hire and why.![]()
I would go further to suggest that there should be a bot account established on this site to automatically post this response anytime I post about the coaching search.

I suggest Saddi Washington for every MAC opening...I think that qualifies as a bot response

Well…Jim Boeheim is available. And he wore the right color.
Coach K. Jay Wright. Jim Calhoun. Roy Williams.
Let’s go, Derek! Close the deal!

Another name I'd make a call to (though it's *very* unlikely they'd answer) is Kevin Ollie. Killed it an UConn (won a Natty in 2013) until he got fired for alleged recruiting violations. UConn ended up having to pay him a TON of money because the courts all ruled in Ollie's favor. He's head coach of Overtime Elite now, but might be interested in proving himself in college again. Great recruiter and great in-game coach.

I had actually also casually wondered about Kevin Ollie, but I assumed he was making more money at Overtime Elite now.

Re: Huger Fired
I'm sure he is, but he has like $20 million in the bank from his settlements with UConn, so he can pretty much decide to do what he wants at this point.
Also, all of the names I've said so far are pretty unrealistic, I'm aware. This is the fun time to ponder, though, right?
I think I've floated Luke Murray before, as well. He's Bill Murray's son who is currently an assistant with UConn and has been with some really solid teams and Louisville, Xavier and Rhode Island. He's known to be a really good recruiter and is still pretty young, especially for the amount of experience he has. My hesitation with him as that he's never been the #2 guy on a staff. Not sure how much of an indication that is on how ready someone is to be a head coach, but something I've noticed.

If Calhoun really wants the job that seems like a no brainer.
