Former BG guard Nellie Cummings has done well since leaving BG. First a few years with Colgate and now starting for Pitt in the NCCAA tournament.
They play Iowa St today at 3:10pm today on TruTV. He's averaging 30+ minutes and 11 points with nearly 5 assists.

It's been fun watching him this year and also sad to know what could have been at BG..
Another name yall might remember: former Miami Redhawk standout Nike Sibande also plays significant minutes for Pitt.

Cummings was one of the players to transfer out that I was really bummed to see leave. Even as a freshman with limited playing time it was clear he was talented. He's definitely had a nice college career, thanks to COVID it feels like he transferred out like 8 years ago.

It seems, the good ones don't stick around. Always have an eye on the keyhole.

Cummings leading his team in scoring, tied for assists and adding in 2 steals.
In the NCAA
And Huger couldn't find reliable minutes for this guy.

Yeah, I too was baffled by why Cummings wasn't playing major minutes.

We had Frye, Caldwell, Turner and Lillard as guards then. I think Cummings was very talented but he has grown a ton over his years. I think he got appropriate minutes his freshman year. I think his departure was more related to being far from home.BleedOrange wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 3:50 pm Yeah, I too was baffled by why Cummings wasn't playing major minutes.

Agree with the post above. He was a different player when he was here. He’s 24 and fully developed now - there’s no question this version of Cummings would’ve played here.
