Rose makes sense but Pitters is a surprise to me. I was thinking he'd stay here for his 5th year. Add another potential pickup from the portal to next year's roster.

Sounds like Ty is moving on from both Rose and Pitters. Rose's departure is disappointing but at this point there is no way you can give him a roster spot after the last two years. Not surprised about Pitters. He was a frequent scratch/extra skater and will graduate in May. I hope they both find success at other schools and perhaps walk away with grad degrees.

I honestly thought Rose's playing days were over. Someone will take a chance on him and get a great goaltender. Pitters always seemed like he had a lot of potential to be that gritty player that could still score. Unfortunately, it felt like he only played when Eigner was out of options. Probably some out of game things going on that we'll never know of. His interview after scoring in the Wisconsin tournament last season showed some of it.

Given the murky future of Eigner after 2023-24, I'd be on my way out too if the opportunity was there to do so. This program is in dire straits for next season with the attrition up front and now a void to fill in net.

Austen Swankler was robbed of CCHA Forward of the year today. David Silye (Mankato) won instead, despite Swankler being 2nd in goals, 2nd in assists, and 1st in points, points per game, and assists per game.

Silye was 19th in assists this year. He’s a goal scorer, but that’s it. Hilariously bad decision.

While I share your disappointment and agree with your assessment, the lesson here is don't get swept at home in the first round of the playoffs if you want to collect end-of-season hardware.

Agree with this. I would rather win games and trophies than awards any day.

Still feels crazy how slanted EVERYTHING in this league is towards Mankato.

Left off the Hobey final 10 as well. But, play a season in the OHL, and expect to be shunned by college coaches when it comes to awards.

He plays in a weak league on a team that finished below .500. The second reason is probably why he wasn't named Forward of the Year.

Blake Pietila, who was pulled twice in four games against BG this season, has been named the CCHA Player of the Year.

I was thinking he might stick around for another year. We're gonna need a d-man from the portal.

There's currently 4 freshman D committed for next season, and 1 for the following. 4 committed for up front with 1 for the following season. As of now, losing 4 D and 7 up front. None of which has been a surprise (well, maybe Collin). 3 spots available for either a late commit or through the portal.
