Many of these guys won’t find any school’s interested in them. Nothing wrong with keeping options open. The new coach will have opportunities to find players.

I think Turner will get some attention from Horizon or OVC schools. Not sure Metheny or Etim would warrant D-1 attention at this point. Metheny more because of his injury history than his skill.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

Metheny will and probably already has D1 offers. Campbell, where former assistant Mike Sumney is at makes some sense. He will have options.

He just shot nearly 40% from 3 and has at least 2 yrs of eligibility left. He'll absolutely have offers and wouldn't be at all shocked if he becomes a 15-20ppg scorer in the lower levels of D1. There are places where his lack of height/athleticism will not hurt him as much as the MAC. And the kid can shoot.

Its being reported that Youngstown State head coach Jerrod Calhoun and Xavier associate head coach/Buffalo native Alex Cohen have turned down the Buffalo head coaching job

Also saw a report that UB has zero NIL money or infrastructure to work with

Buffalo has a real mess now. They had a year buyout to pay plus additional $100,000 to the ex head coach.

There seems to be a lot of buzz on social media with Huger going to Temple. Good for him. Wish coach and his family the very best. I wonder if Noon would head to Temple too? I know he recruited guys like Plowden annd Fields out of philly and I see him retweeted things with Adam Fisher getting the job. Does anyone know what’s going on with our assistants and staff here? They are all still listed on the site. Are they staying with Coach Simon? I assumed he would clean house

Typically they are under contract presumably until June 1 or May 1 whichever and they would continue in their roles until Coach Simon replaces them because BG would still be paying them.

Most assistants and Huger would have language in their contracts that "offset" buyouts for future earnings.

Example, we owe Huger let's say $800,000 for easy math.

Temple decides they're going to pay $125K as Associate Head Coach (again, I'm guessing) So BG would owe $550k instead of the original $800k.

Same with assistants.

Resume is impressive on paper, but did he just ride Jay Wright's coattails? Villanova was extremely mediocre this year without him. And considering this guy was there through all of their success and never received a job offer... I dunno. We'll see. I think it's appropriate to skeptical despite the name-brand program he is coming from.

I am a massive fan of Jay Wright, but this is the exact type of resume that I did NOT want us to hire here.

Good luck to them though. I don't root against our conference brethren. I root for them to succeed and raise the bar. I am a MAC hoops fan and it pains me how awful the bottom of this conference has been (not that Buffalo qualifies). I wish the whole conference would commit to excellence in hoops.
