Great candidate. Still prefer Kim Cameron and then Kari Pickens, but wouldn't be unhappy with Miller either. Not sure if BG would pay more than GCU. They put a pretty healthy amount of money into their athletic programs.

The head coach at Cleveland State would have been a name to consider but I saw in the last few days he signed a contract extension

Re: New Coaching candidates
I've noticed an unusual amount of silence from DVDM since the announcement, which makes me think he's working overtime to get something official ASAP.
Side note: I heard from some of my people who work in the biz that both Pitt and WVU were pursuing Fralick and planned to make her an offer before MSU decided to make her one of the highest paid women's coaches (she'll reportedly be in the top 20 in earnings). Not sure how serious those pursuits were, but could explain such an aggressive offer by the Spartans.

Red Flag to me is that six players from a 21 win team are now in the portal.guest44 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 03, 2023 1:32 pm Molly Miller Grand Canyon https://gculopes.com/staff-directory/molly-miller/573

FWIW...Molly Miller is followed on Twitter by both Robyn Fralick and DVDM

Re: New Coaching candidates
That doesn't surprise me. She and Fralick were both successful D-II coaches, and Miller and DVDM were both in Arizona.
I do feel like the long delay means that it's not going to be Cameron or Pickens, though, so guest might have had the insider info, yet again.

Given how players today are fairly impatient, I don't consider this a red flag.fredthefalcon wrote: ↑Wed Apr 05, 2023 4:42 pmRed Flag to me is that six players from a 21 win team are now in the portal.guest44 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 03, 2023 1:32 pm Molly Miller Grand Canyon https://gculopes.com/staff-directory/molly-miller/573

I disagree. It's been 6 days since she left. Pickens was coaching in Houston this weekend. I think Pickens is strongly in the mix if she wants to be. Central job opened up today also.BillyLP wrote: ↑Thu Apr 06, 2023 1:34 pmThat doesn't surprise me. She and Fralick were both successful D-II coaches, and Miller and DVDM were both in Arizona.

Re: New Coaching candidates
As to the Central job, that situation is eerily similar to what happen previously to BG-- a very successful long time head coach retires/leaves and the equally long time assistant takes over and does exceptionally with the former coaches' roster for two years and then sinks to rock bottom with her own recruits. Happened here when Curt left and Roos got the job and is happening at CMU after Guerra retired. That's one reason I would like a shot of new outside blood for the current BG scenario.
