Baseball vs EMU

Post by Falconfreak90 »

Went down to Columbus Wed night and we lost 8-2 to aOSU. 3 HR's did us in.

This weekend, 3 game series at the Stell vs. EMU. Game 1 goes to EMU, 8-6. 6 losses in a row now for the Falcons after winning 8 of 9 before that.
Streaky team. We simply have to find a way to score as we are leaving way too many on base. Just can't seem to get the hits needed.

They did win game 3 yesterday afternoon. After 6 weekends they are 8-10 and in 5th/6th place area. The top 4 teams make the conference tourney. Unfortunately Kent, Ohio, Central and Ball State are all several games ahead of everyone else. BG has 4 conference weekends left. They can’t finish any worse than 9-3 to realistically have a chance.
Obviously that’s not likely.
They play series against WMU, Ball State, NIU and UT. All the series are winnable, but BG hasn’t hit much at all this year and the pitching isn’t elite by any means. They need to play their best this last month and a half.

Pitching is ranked 3rd overall in the MAC and still overall VERY young.
Hitting, especially in clutch situations has been the big problem, but with 3 of our best hitters being freshmen or sophomores, the future is bright.

And the hitting has exploded!!! 16-4 win at Oakland today after scoring 30 runs against EMU over the weekend!! :supz: :supz: :supz:

Man, if only this hitting had started in Cbus last week. I made the trip down and we lost 8-2...and I hate losing to aOSU in anything.

Factman is absolutely right, as he always is, when it comes to BG Baseball. Hitting in clutch situations has really hurt us this year. Too many runners left on base in too many games. But now we are getting the hitting and it is contagious.

It's been a while since I've been this jacked about Falcon Baseball. Get on board now!! Coach Hallock and his staff have this team on the right track and soon we will be very good.

Weekend series at WMU if the rain stays away. We need to take no less than 2 of the 3 to say in the hunt. Anyone know, is next Wednesday's game at tsun a non conf game? Ball State is loaded so that will be a tough task the following weekend at the Stell. NIU and then tsun to finish conf play.

GO FALCONS!!!

16-4 with 10 hits and 15 walks. We used 9 pitchers, 1 inning apiece.
