Agee will thrive being able to play at the 4, imo
Recruiting 2023-2024 The Simon Era
Re: Recruiting 2023-2024 The Simon Era
This is a monster signee. Great job Coach Simon and staff. With the pieces that are left from last year the two new signees Falcon basketball just got competitive. I predict at least one more signee.mbenecke wrote: ↑Sat Apr 22, 2023 5:37 pmIt’s a transfer from Southern Utah!JohnFloyd4Life wrote: ↑Sat Apr 22, 2023 2:11 pm Simon just did his Ay Ziggy Boom thing. I haven’t seen anywhere who we got yet.
Jason Spurgin, a 6’11 center who has started every game the past 2 seasons and averaged 10 points per game last year. Shot 60% from the floor last season, so he seems efficient. And he’s from Australia, which is pretty cool.

Better be way more than one. Right now there are only 8 players that would be on scholarship. 9 if for some reason C. Turner returns. Still a lot of work to do.OSUFALCON wrote: ↑Sat Apr 22, 2023 7:21 pmThis is a monster signee. Great job Coach Simon and staff. Sure hope at least one of these bigs can shoot from 15 feet or more. Otherwise it gets very hard to play them together.
Re: Recruiting 2023-2024 The Simon Era
Using my flimsy theory of players followed by both Todd Simon's and BGSU Men's Basketball's Twitter accounts, it appears we can identify "targets":
Four 'new to BG' players met this double follow criteria: Javon Jackson [transfer portal from Southern Nazarene University - DII], Jason Spurgin [committed], DaJion Humprhey [Juco transfer discussed earlier in this thread], and PJ Edwards [committed].
It appears we offered Javon Jackson on March 19th, the day he put his name in the portal. He has accumulated several mid-major DI offers. He also appeared to visit BGSU today: https://twitter.com/_JavonJackson/statu ... 79265?s=20
I believe there are other offers out there if you have the time to piece together everything. I ran out of patience. lol

Spurgin is a huge get. The most versatile frontcourt BGSU has had in years in terms of depth. I've heard the staff has had recruits/transfers on campus most days this past week. Plenty of guards still left in the portal.Hdog wrote: ↑Sat Apr 22, 2023 9:35 pm Using my flimsy theory of players followed by both Todd Simon's and BGSU Men's Basketball's Twitter accounts, it appears we can identify "targets":

Re: Recruiting 2023-2024 The Simon Era
5 more roster spots available.
1 Lightfoot 2
2 Curtis 4
3 Edwards 2-McCombs 2
4 Agee 3/4-Felt 1/2
5 Spurgin 3/4-Towns 3/4
Could use another big, maybe a Freshman there, but need to focus on guards.

Jackson's tweet re his visit I closed the # "not committed".... so...we'll see...
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Still doubting this is accurate. Particularly Lightfoot and Curtis. We shall see in the coming weeks.Globetrotter wrote: ↑Sun Apr 23, 2023 8:35 am 5 more roster spots available.

We need to get depth at the PG. Now. Curtis belongs on the wing. Lightfoot is uber-talented but is still an unknown.
The earlier write-ups on Felt say that he can shoot it from the outside and will create nightmares for defenders. On paper, he's a monster. He's the guy I'm most looking forward to.

This is another guy who looks like a stud and could round out the Big man room. He's from Windsor and somehow doesn't have many high major offers.BleedOrange wrote: ↑Sun Apr 23, 2023 6:38 pm We need to get depth at the PG. Now. Curtis belongs on the wing.
