That is a team with little size except for Dzieken. And no one else would be able to back her up in the post. Hill is a battler, defender, rebounder but she is foul prone. Hope that improves. We are in need of a size injection if only a couple of grad transfers. The 6'2" transfer portal senior from MSU and a Cleveland native is still available in the portal.

I agree. We need size at this point. Also, Hampton has shown her true colors. To go to another school in the MAC is a slap in the face to BG.
Re: 2023 Offseason
To be fair, Chmiel has obviously diagnosed height as an issue. The 2 scholarship offers out from him are to girls that are 6’2 and 6’3. So I look at that as something that will be corrected with time.

They have 2024 offers out to a 6-3 post from Michigan and 6-2 post from KY. Definitely need to add size for 23/24. We needed to even before the coaching change

These men and women can do as they please and shouldn't be criticized for it. Appreciate her contributions here, and hope BG can have success against Ball State in 2023-24.American Falcon wrote: ↑Wed Apr 26, 2023 4:36 pm I agree. We need size at this point. Big fan of Fralick, but it was infuriating to me that she never seemed to go after anyone with size...maybe they just wouldn't come here, but she just seemed to prefer the shorter more athletic types over the true post players. The only real post threats we had during her tenure were holdovers from the prior coach and the transfer, Day.

Bingo. They have 6'2" Marie Kiefer for another two years. To me, the best returning post player in the league.

Re: 2023 Offseason
I think she was working towards figuring out the height thing towards the end, and I would bet she has more success on that front at MSU.Redwingtom wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 6:54 am Big fan of Fralick, but it was infuriating to me that she never seemed to go after anyone with size...maybe they just wouldn't come here, but she just seemed to prefer the shorter more athletic types over the true post players. But you’re totally right. We could out-athlete most opponents and run them out of the gym. But when we met taller opponents with height AND athleticism (the recent Buffalo teams, Toledo this year, etc.) we struggled much more. We need to be more balanced in that area, and I think Chmiel is working on that already.

I wonder if Hampton will be selling her brown suit and orange tie that she wore last weekend, on Ebay.

Miami's Maddi Cluse is in the portal...she could help fill the void left by Hampton, Tate and Brett

This site is probably easier to peruse but it is not as updated as wbbblog.com. For example does not have Nyla leaving or Molly Neitzel deciding to back out of the portal. I prefer wbbblog but thanks for showing an alternative.Flipper wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 10:34 am Lots of post players in the portal...

Re: 2023 Offseason
I thought Miami could make at change at the end of the season, but they didn't so figured she would be back for another year. Yeah the timing is odd
