Commitment from Jordan Jackson, grad transfer from Stony Brook with 2 years of eligibility. Pretty small at 5'10" 190lbs. Seems like he was a solid contributor but not a stud. Perhaps an addition for depth.

WTF? No ties to Boston College or a Cali JUCO...what is going on here?
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

How do we not load up on OL and just pick one? We have 9 rbs and 11 ol.

Re: 2023 Offseason
We signed one OL as a incoming FR.
You will typically carry 15-20...more towards 20...in a given year.

Re: 2023 Offseason
Not saying I agree with it, and I have zero faith that it will work here for THIS coach.
..BUT... to play Devil's Advocate. I could see a case for virtually ignoring HS kids at OL. One of the reason why you usually commit so many roster spots to them is you have to get HS kids in here and into the weight/conditioning program for typically 2 yrs before you really want them on the field. I have to imagine, if we looked at data (if we could find it), that the lines are redshirted at a very high percentage of the time.
Could easily see a case for not committing scholarships to bulking up HS OL that may or may not stay in the program long enough to play, and instead focusing on pulling already physically developed kids from the portal.
The flip side of this, is somewhat obvious. Continuity and chemistry are probably more important on the OL than nearly any other position group. You benefit greatly from keeping the same kids next to one another year over year, and at the VERY minimum having the guys you want on the field already in the program for bowl season/spring practice.
Re: 2023 Offseason
I have to imagine we will bring in some more bodies along the offensive line before camp opens in August. There are still transfer portal guys out there. I guess we'll see.

Re: 2023 Offseason
My issue is this...it's been a weakness for the entire time SL has been here. We're thin there now and we're going to have to bring in a bunch of guys to fill the spots. August to September isn't a great deal of time to build the aforementioned chemistry and continuity you need.
How do you get undone by the same problem year after year?
