I will be at the game!!!!!!!!
Well after 2 days, of trying to find the cheapest flights I was able to put together a pretty cheap airfare. Not really what I want to do or where I want to leave out of, but it works for me.
1. I have to drive from BG to Columbus. I leave out of Columbus airport, and then fly to KC. From KC I go to Pheonix, and then from Pheonix I fly to Vancouver, BC. I then get a rental car in Vancouver, and drive the two hours to Seattle.
I know this sounds like a strange way of going, but the cheapest flights out of Detroit, Toledo or Cleveland on no notice, even over a weekend was $763.00. I got my flight for a cheap $295.00. I even got a meal on two of the flights. I leave Columbus Friday morning at 7:55am, and arrive in Vancouver at 4:45 in the evening. With the 2 hour drive, and customs, I should be in Seattle at around 9pm. Also was able to get a weekend rate of $269.99 at AmeriSuites, only about 3 miles from the arena, and they have a free shuttle to and from the game. Cant beat that. I got my airfare, lodging, and meals cheaper than I could have gotten a flight out of Detroit using a travel agent.

Park at the Thrifty Rent-A-Car --they have valet parking that is pretty reassonable ($8-10 a day). They'll drop you off at the airport and you call them when you arrive back in town and they'llpick you up and have your car ready for you.
I used them when I went to the GMAC Bowl - will use them again. I think I'll take a look at something similar to what you did and see what I can come up with.

In Columbus.
Well, yes you could park at the airport and lug your lugglage through the parking lot and onto the shuttle bus that will take you to the terminal.
Or you can park at Thrifty and get dropped off at the terminal and have a nice warm car ready when you get back.
Just trying to be helpful.

I really dont trust anyone to start my car. I dont even trust valet. But if I can park it there and get a ride to the terminal, I am all for that.

Having flown to Seattle numerous times, that is a good price. I would estimate the travel from Vancouver to Seattle to be 3 hours or more. If you get across the border within a half hour that will be good, especially that late afternoon rush. Traffic around Everett, WA, and further south will be clear by the time you get into the area. Sounds like you are missing out on parking cost. That will really help!
If you need a restaurant with one of the best views anywhere, try Salty's just before the sun sets. It's across Elliot bay. Also, the God of beer visits Gordon Biersch Micro Brewery in Pacific Place. Wherever you eat, have the salmon.
Let me know if anyone needs ideas or help in Seattle.
Good luck,
Cork

FYI
There are now 3 (Red, Blue or Green ) Long Term Parking Lots at Cols Airport. (if you dont' want to use Thrifty). They are all on the road leading to the terminal.
You can park in one of them, Grab their shuttle van that will take you to your airline at the terminal. Cost is about $6 or $7/day.
Remember which Lot you use and look for that shuttle upon your return AND remember where you part in that Lot so, they can drop you off at your car.
Have fun. And . . . GO FALCONS !!

The restaurant at the top of the Space Needle is a truly fun place to eat...it's been eons since I ate there (can you say World's Fair?), but I remember the view was spectacular, the food good, (but expensive)...and the thought of a "new view" about every 10 minutes or so can't be beat...in the meantime, bring us home a winner!!!bgsufan1972 wrote:I thought I would eat at the revolving restaraunt or maybe McDonalds. No, just kidding. Thanks for all the advice and I will make a sign once I am out there. Dont want to pack one and take with me, it may get torn. Just like we are going to tear the hearts out of them little pussycats.

No I think I will leave the team out there. I dont want to bring us home a winner, let the winner stay out and compete just a little bit longer after this week. Lets bring them home April 1. Sound good?

1963 'ish?
It is still great. Was around 36.00 for Sat/Sun brunch a couple of years ago and I've heard it is higher than that now. The food is great considering it could be touristy, and they do a 4 course brunch. Considering the view, the free elevator ride without waiting, and they don't rush you, it is worth it. Problem is, seeing anything but clouds, fog, and rain is almost a given this time of year. One is lucky to see Mount Rainier or Baker but it's possible.

Hey everyone, on my way to Seattle. I am at my first of 2 two hour layovers. I am currently in the Kansas City airport. Nice quiet airport. I will be on my way to Pheonix next, and then to Vancouver and then Seattle. Got to live wireless networks. Now if we can only get them wireless with an access point on airplanes. Whats with golfer kid? Like 50 posts already this morning. Grant??? Can you talk to him, if not, he is going to piss off alot of people. I will bring home two victories for us all.
