There’s enough talent on this roster to be one of the top 4 teams in the conference. Someone said it. The passing offense seems to be too complex and asks the QB to do too much. Simplify the air attack and lean on Stewart…unfortunately it won’t happen.
I will say the team didn’t give up, which was more than they’ve shown in the past. I also thought Liberty kinda stunk on offense. The tv announcers were in love with their QB, but I thought the kid made some bad reads. There were a handful of plays they left on the field that could’ve made it a one sided win.

OL improved
WRs no idea
RB just as good as last year
QB no idea-Eastern Illinois is hopefully a great game to get back on track
D not sure but looked good overall.

MACtion at the end of the season, MACsh-t and the beginning of the season. Most conference teams dismantled in week 1. Not much has changed in the last 25 years.

Ohio and UT are going to be the two good teams. Everyone else will range from inconsistently ok to awful. It would be interesting to see what this team looked like with a competent OC calling the plays. Loeffler should not be running the offense. He’s not good at it.

The OL looked a little better until that last series. QB's were awful...Orth had a nice TD pass but also lobbed one up into double coverage. Bazelak was horible...if he could set his feet and throw it 10-15 yards to a stationary receiver...he was ok. Anything else was off.

Defense wasn't great..Salter missed a number of throws... had he been able to hit more of his receivers in stride, they would have scored a lot more
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

I was in the stands and this is what I took away. The team was sleep walking for most of the first half and luck bailed them out multiple times. Orth seemed the better option at QB. When Bazelak was throwing the ball it looked like it was going to be an over throw even before it left his hand. Orth seemed more comfortable and mistakes happened when he needed to make a play that wasn't there. Most of the game it felt like BG was running or passing into the strength of Liberty. Multiple times I saw what could be one on coverage and BG would go to the opposite side of the field. The defense is stacked for the run and guess what, a run and a loss of yards.

It was interesting to see the reaction to the fumble. The section we were in said it wasn't a fumble and then they showed the replay. Liberty fans were ready to give us the ball. When the call was made it was a consensus that there wasn't enough to over turn it. Very interesting to see that reaction from the home team. They knew Liberty got lucky but everyone knew BG was struggling.

It was frustrating watching mistakes all day. So may penalties and simple mistakes. That was a very winnable game, the second quarter and stupid penalties are going to destroy this team all year. This team is going to go 6-6 and be (as usual) frustrating to watch week after week.
