I was assuming this was a joke when I saw it on Twitter. I didn’t think it was a credible source. They tagged Bucci, but he never said anything about it.unfalconbelievable wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 7:29 pm Swankler to Michigan Tech with an NIL deal of 52,000 for two years.
More salt in the wound. I was hoping he'd atleast go to someone we don't play.

Thought he made it pretty clear at the end of last season he was only playing college one more year. Told his mom he would get his degree was the reason he came back for this season.mbenecke wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 7:39 pmI was assuming this was a joke when I saw it on Twitter. I would be stunned if this resulted from something as picayune as a single beer...or a few push ups
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
Re: Offseason 2023
Northwestern just provided a blueprint of exactly how not to handle this situation…it’ll be interesting to see if BG can just get to the bottom of things without completely destroying the program’s reputation.
Wonder if any reporters are digging into this at all or if they don’t really care and will just let the department release details at another time?
Still think it must be pretty bad if Eigner got suspended.

There are definitely reporters doing some digging. I know that for a fact. I think we are going to find out exactly what happened here.TommyG wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 11:16 am Northwestern just provided a blueprint of exactly how not to handle this situation…it’ll be interesting to see if BG can just get to the bottom of things without completely destroying the program’s reputation.

I’d be more willing to bet that whatever took place is no different than any other house party around campus.

Clearly you have some vision of what happened… so why don’t you share it with us

I don't have any such thing...from my perspective the folks who are treating this dismissively do

100% agree. They have to take it as seriously as possible.
Dismissing this as "boys will be boys" is not an option - it's honestly probably what caused this mess in the first place.

Knowing what I do, from whom I know it from… I think it’s being blown out of proportion, but because of the Foltz tragedy, it’s completely understandable as to why it’s being handled and worded the way it is.
I won’t play dumb… I know alcohol was present, however, I also know that this situation is NOTHING like what happened in the fraternity hazing case.

Re: Offseason 2023
A group of random people get together at a house, get blackout drunk playing drinking games and whatnot is no big deal. Happens literally every Friday and Saturday night. Now, if a few of that group join the Chess Club, the next time they get together, doing the exact same thing they were doing, it's now considered "hazing." Literally nothing else different other than a couple of them joined a recognized club and it suddenly meets the definition of hazing.
Whether it's 3 members of a club at a random house party, or an entire organization doing the elephant walk across campus, the school is going to react the same way until the investigation is over. Suspensions, leave of absence for whoever is in charge, etc. They will overreact to a simple situation to make sure everyone knows they will take all matters seriously.
