It may have involved...to some degree...activities that could be construed as hazing. Swankler was offended enough that he left the team and on his way out threw a bomb in the room by reporting the possible hazing. What's left to be determined is how much damage that bomb does.

Is that correct?
I’ll put it this way… he didn’t report it out of the kindness of his heart. The event had nothing to do with his state of mind, it was just the easiest grenade he could pull the pin on and try and walk away before it went off.

Should we keep dancing around it or does someone want to be the first to share details? There are lots of rumors out there. It seems like the rumors might turn out to be true.

I’m sure it will all be released when the investigation completes.

Given the fallout from the Tucker investigation at MSU and that there's an investigation into the leak of it, best for whoever knows anything to remain mum.

AZIce wrote: Fri Sep 22, 2023 1:04 pm BG has a lot of alumni in high ranking NHL positions, including two with kids ON this team. These people talk behind the scenes all the time.

If the current info is true, this is the 2nd team Swankler has left on less than good terms. Teams don’t want locker room cancers and coaches don’t want coach killers. I think he may not get as many shots as he thinks…..these things travel to management of all teams.
Teams in the NHL have drafted guys with bigger issues than being a jerk. Someone will give him a shot if he's deemed worthy from a talen perspective

Rick Westhead who investigated the abuse of Kyle Beach while with the Blackhawks is reporting BGPD are still investigating to determine if any Ohio anti-hazing laws were broken.

I find it infuriating that the Blackhawks were allowed to draft Bedard after white washing sexual abuse, (full disclosure...lifelong Wings fan..hate Chicago any way)

So why hasn’t anyone who knows what happened named the three suspended players? People have no issue naming who reported it, why not name the suspended?

Because they like the suspended players?

They really liked Swankler. They stood and cheered him over and over until Monday around noon.

Because the suspended players are doing exactly as expected of them. Head down, mouth shut. Had Swankler simply reported the incident, then sat quietly and waited for the investigation to finish, people's views of him would be a lot different. First rule of PR is win the race to the media.

I don't have Twitter but saw this article where he stated he was a victim.

https://triblive.com/sports/north-hunti ... ing-green/

“I came out about everything that happened to stop future incidents from occurring,” Swankler said Friday, via his account with X, formerly known as Twitter. “Hazing is a serious issue especially to this school. So before you saying (sic) I’m dragging the school through mud know the facts. I know the facts because I was a victim.”

He was viewed as a bad teammate in Erie and he was viewed that way by players here as well. Those opinions were shared with me far before this hazing allegation was even reported. I’ve heard those sentiments since his first season here. I’m simply relaying information.

He is probably also referring to the Everything College Hockey Instagram post replies as well.

You’ve heard his side, unfortunately, you can’t hear the other side because of the investigation.
