Re: @Augie (10/14, 10/15)
But what if it’s not a minor thing? What if it’s a deep-rooted issue within the program that goes back years? What if we have a culture of hazing that spans decades, and they have to interview players from 10, 15, 20 years ago as part of the investigation?
We have no idea. The only actual facts we know are that Eigner is on interim suspension and there are 3 players that are suspended with him. Other than that, it’s been all speculation. We don’t know how serious it is. That’s why we have to let it play out.
I’m waiting for the facts before I can truly judge the situation. Whining about how long it’s taking serves no real purpose.

Given the trajectory of the program prior to the suspensions, it was already likely headed toward a change in leadership. This is probably just deciding whether it is now or just on down the road.
Re: @Augie (10/14, 10/15)
I tend to agree with this. Unless this season is a massive step forward, we’re likely seeing a regime change regardless of the investigation.

Get it right, yes. The fact is they are not even acknowledging the investigation at this point. The AD completely left hockey out of his "Insider" newsletter. There was zero promotion of the home opener. 4 weeks in and the department can't even give an update? Don't need to disclose any details. A simple "here's where we are, this is how long we think we have left" type statement would show some competence. To just let it drag on in silence really makes it seem like they don't know what they are doing, or if they are even trying to achieve a resolution.Hockey John wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2023 1:42 pmOr they are making sure of the validity of the claims. They HAVE TO GET THIS RIGHT after the Stone Foltz case. We will know in time. They can't cover it up. Let's let them get it right.

It would not be wise to assume they know what they are doing. This department struggles up and down with the basic functions of the job they get paid to perform. Add in the lack of accountability and this is likely in the individual ass covering stage. Rodney Rogers is great at selfies with students. Holding employees accountable is a totally different story.

The program under Eigner was going nowhere fast anyways.
Better to just take our medicine this year and start over with a new coaching staff in the spring.
In the long run, this may be exactly what the program needed.

And to that point, prove you have "cause" to fire a coach and avoid the buyout. Need to get Fyten & Scardina back though ASAP. Scardina was likely going to be a 25 point guy for us this year.AZIce wrote: ↑Fri Oct 13, 2023 12:42 pm The program under Eigner was going nowhere fast anyways.

Rodney Rodgers has increasing enrollment in an environment where the competition is experiencing declining enrollment. He’s damned good at retaining students that are already enrolled. He’s demonstrated he has his finger on the pulse of what this institution is, what it isn’t, what it should be and what it’ll never be. He’s leveraging that in a way that which will keep this school relevant much longer than the shithole school up north. Just because you have your panties in a twist over Peter Eigner being the fourth string door opener doesn’t mean you know jack about how to fund an institution of higher learning. Instead of bitching constantly, make a Falcon Club donation. JFC.guest44 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 13, 2023 5:52 am It would not be wise to assume they know what they are doing. Jesus…you really like Rodney Rodgers. He take a photo with you at some point?
Re: @Augie (10/14, 10/15)
So turn a "hazing" investigaton into a witch hunt so you don't have to pay a buyout? No wonder everybody lawyered up. Meanwhile, you have three seniors suspended for four weeks, missing four games and counting. It had better be a life-altering incident to justify that.AZIce wrote: ↑Fri Oct 13, 2023 12:42 pm The program under Eigner was going nowhere fast anyways.

Wasn’t Pete the 3rd goalie? Or did he become 4th goalie when the possibility of him actually having to play required a 4th goalie?
Re: @Augie (10/14, 10/15)
Pete was never expected to see playing time. Neither was Rich before him. In fact, never has a third string been expected to play in a game outside of mop up duty. Even now, Evola knows he won't see playing time unless both Stoever and Moore are injured.

Re: @Augie (10/14, 10/15)
So Pete is the Emergency to the Emergency goalie? And if Stoever and Moore get injured they will go find a 5th goalie?
