Re: Up next...Buffalo
Buffalo seems similar to last year. Decent big 10 loss, questionable fcs loss, competitive sun belt loss, then turning up for Mac play. They are getting better and it looks like we are not. Spread is generous and I see a 38-17 loss that isn't that close
Re: Up next...Buffalo
I’m surprised nobody mentioned it…or maybe I missed it. In Monday’s presser Loeffler mentioned watching every play from the first 6 games and then he just blabbed about consistency.
During all that blabber he said something along the lines of Ohio didn’t stop BG once during BG’s first 24 offensive plays.
BG basically stopped themselves by not executing the game plan. The 25th play Ohio finally earned a stop. I counted the score after BG’s 25th offensive play was 31-0.
Of course none of the reporters followed up on that…but I continue to be amazed by the arrogance and bravado to come out and say that. If the gameplan is so good that no one can stop it except the players on your own team, then that is even worse because you are putting together a plan that can’t be executed.
Clown show.

Yes, the Rube Goldberg offense will beat any defense. Unfortunately, no one can possibly execute it.TommyG wrote: ↑Fri Oct 13, 2023 10:19 am I’m surprised nobody mentioned it…or maybe I missed it. It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.

I think the game plan is a bit like Applebee's menu, it covers too many items & it's impossible to make all of those things good. As a result, almost none of it is.
BG isn't worse than Miami & fundamentally BG looks solid honestly. But then we run the ball with Orth 5 times and only 8 with Terion? A week after he went 28-136 against GT?! Makes no damn sense

Let's go with Cheesecake Factory. It's even bigger. It's even more convoluted. There is zero direction in any of it, and it's all hot garbage. The only good thing you can say about it is every dish is so loaded with fat, salt, and sugar some of it tricks you into thinking it's good, but it's still all really bad food.Bgsu2016 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 13, 2023 12:57 pm I think the game plan is a bit like Applebee's menu, it covers too many items & it's impossible to make all of those things good. That's the arrogance and bravado of a guy who has the support of the guy who the building in the end zone is named after. It's the same arrogance and bravado that reached back to blaming Babers during the slaughter of 2020. Nothing will change any time soon because the barometer is Jinks.TommyG wrote: ↑Fri Oct 13, 2023 10:19 am I’m surprised nobody mentioned it…or maybe I missed it. It's the coach's job to find players that fit his system..or failing that..find a system that fits his players. We're in year five of what seems to be an ongoing gap between expectations and execution. Scot is the one constant in the process...so...
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

He’d have to be super frustrating to play for.

Was at that game. Not only were we up 13-0. we had a first and goal at the 2 looking to to make is 20-0. 4 straight runs up the middle and we got 1 yard. Next thing ya know, we're losing.Beaker wrote: ↑Mon Oct 09, 2023 12:25 pm2 years ago we had just beaten Minnesota and were a 14 point home favorite against Zippy. Jumped out to a 13-0 lead, their starting QB goes down with an injury and it looks like we will cruise to an easy win. The backup QB comes in and shreds us and we walk away with a lopsided loss. We were their only FBS win that entire season. Forgive my lack of faith, but I just can't ever take anything for granted when it comes to assumed wins for this program.
No game is an easy win for this team.
Buffalo? Could go either way.

Expect an ugly game with plenty of rain in the Buffalo area this afternoon.

Would love to know what Scot predicts today. Preferably before the game.

First drive of the game starts with a couple good runs by Stewart. Two false starts follow and the drive stalls. The beat goes on.
