It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Re: Up next...Buffalo
What are we doing eating up clock with our best weapon on offense when we have a stable of backs ready to go.
Re: Up next...Buffalo
Not easy to tackle a big guy like that in a split second without going low. You go high, you might not get him down, and then you blow the game.Flipper wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 6:40 pmIt is entirely possible...Globetrotter wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 6:36 pmIt's impossible to go at someones knee intentionally on a play like that.
Hits like that are part of the game, unfortunately.

BG wins 24-14.
Moves us to 3-4 overall and 1-2 in the MAC.
1-6 Akron comes to town next week. No reason we shouldn’t be 4-4 and 2-2 heading into November.

Next 3 games are 1-6 teams, and 2 of them are at home.
Need to be 6-4 when Toledo comes to town. We shouldn’t settle for less.

Reason No. 2 why I want SL replaced.
Reason No. 1 is the wild inconsistency of his teams.

We got a mac win on the road vs a solid mac qb. Unfortunately unless we win out it's hard to be excited.
Before today we were 123 out of 130 in penalty yards per game. Without looking at other games we will be 127th after today's game

NIU taking down Ohio. Miami in the driver's seat for the East. They take on Toledo next week. Things getting interesting.

Good job getting Stewart the ball…if the game is played in decent weather we probably lose. That’s exactly the way our defense excels. No deep threat at all in the least

And we end at 2-5 WMU. This is SL's last shot, imo. Every game is winnable down the stretch (unfortunately with our patterns, every one is a possible loss as well.

I think it will be obvious if he should go.
He goes 5-0 to finish the year he stays
He goes 4-1 he probably stays
He goes 3-2 he probably goes
He goes 2-3, 1-4,0-5 he is definitely gone
We are in a weird spot. We obviously want them to win, but there isn't much confidence that he is the coach to put together a good/fun/entertaining team here.
7-5 with losses at Liberty (6-0), Toledo(6-1), OU (5-2), Miami(6-1), Michigan (7-0).....
There is a pretty good argument to keep him if you aren't really paying attention.

3-2 means a bowl game. If they win it, they’re 7-6. I don’t see him being out in that scenario.Globetrotter wrote: ↑Mon Oct 16, 2023 3:30 pm I think it will be obvious if he should go.

I think he’s gone at 5-7 or worse because it means no bowl game - a clear step back from last year.

Re: Up next...Buffalo
Mediocrity got him an extension, it’s not going get him fired a year later. 6-7 or anything better and I can’t see BG firing him.
