JFC, multiple people have explained all of this to you multiple times using language a 5 year old would understand. And either you genuinely still don't get it or you actually do get it and don't care. Suggestion if it's the former: reread the thread, all your questions above have been answered.

I hadn't hit the block option yet, but yeah, that's done after this. Begone, troll.
It's almost like 2 guys capable of putting up decent points are suspended unjustly, I mean indefinitely.
I blame Peter Eigner and Kit Hughes.
Blame Bob Moosbrugger, Kit Hughes, Jim Elsasser and Ty Eigner. It takes a village to bring a program back. It only takes a few self serving types to take it to a really really bad place.
I agree the Eigner hire was a big mistake. I know some don't like Berge on here, but he had the team playing with excellent structure and with a true 18-man effort. That culture is all but gone. The university went cheap and hired an alumnus assistant, even Berge candidly said Ty wasn't ready for this job. The right move would have been bringing in someone from the outside with experience to push this to the next level. Regrettably, five years later the wheels have fallen off in more than one respect.

This all followed a very similar trajectory as Gregg Brandon. Assistant hired, rides the players from the previous staff for a couple years, and then everything goes to hell once it's time to bring in your own players. It's gross.

I'm half-tempted to start a coaching thread on here only because there isn't going to be much to discuss after the next few weekends and the team is already out of it.

It all sucks because I helped coach the club team in 2008-09 and got an up close view of how awful the program was at that time. I'm getting the same feeling on the current state of affairs.

Bergeron is not the answer for BG. Look at where Miami is now.

Curious about something on the Brandon hire now that you mention it. For those around then (I was a couple of years away from attending BG when Brandon was hired as head coach), what was the fan base's thought on hiring Brandon as head coach? Another assistant hired as head coach that went badly was Jennifer Roos replacing Curt Miller. I remember that time on here and it was pretty unanimous that everyone wanted Roos as head coach, while it seemed more split on Eigner replacing Bergeron. Just curious what is was for Brandon replacing Meyer for those who remember?
Most were okay with it if I remember correctly. I know the players went to Paul Krebs to advocate for him to get the job. Perhaps the same happened with Eigner which swayed the decision.

I don't want Berge to come back. Seems you misunderstood what I was saying. The program needs a task master as coach who will keep the players accountable and have them playing sound team hockey. Berge accomplished that here. Program lost it's identity under Ty.

In college hockey it’s much less likely people know the names involved outside alumni or current assistants. If it was the current players that kept him, most of those players used the extra year and transferred out for the final season. People tried to tell me those transfers were by design because the talent coming in was so good. I’d say that was dead wrong. Slater probably had more to do with it than anyone. We are talking about a Moosbrugger hire. BG had already gone the Boston College route and it failed miserably, so Hughes input was useless.

This is my recollection as well about Brandon. The players wanted him, and I think most fans were fine with it as well. He was the OC on those Urban teams which had some wildly creative offensive schemes and scored a lot of points.
