Should be a cakewalk...they lost to Akron for Heaven's sake...but if Stewart can't go our offense will be hindered.
I think we will win...which means we probably won't

Win it and clinch a bowl berth. All that matters is the W.

They're so bad they had an extra 'L' for barrel?

Re: Next up: The bottom of the barrell...Kent St
Kent has scored 89 points in 8 games this season outside their lone win against Central Conn State, 38-10. Matty J is the OC. Our D has been pretty solid all season and *should* be able to lock down the KSU O. In four games they scored 6 pts or less. Their D is giving up roughly 30 pts a game in the MAC.
And they've won 5 straight over us....5 in a row. We need to come out and impose our will from the opening kickoff.

Their two best players on offense and defense were injured against Akron. Kent fell apart after that. Unknown if those two will be healthy for BG.
Stewart is a game time decision. Forecast is looking wet and windy for Wednesday.

A 1-8 record and a less than favorable weather forecast should add up to a very small crowd and little, if any, home-field advantage. I agree that this SHOULD be a BG win, which makes me worried that it WON'T be a BG win.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2023 1:24 pm Their two best players on offense and defense were injured against Akron. Stewart or it no Stewart, should be an easy win. But I’ll be expecting anything as always.

Fortunately, it's Ohio -- and northwest Ohio at that. The forecast may change 10 times between now and then.threestooges wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2023 10:41 pmA 1-8 record and a less than favorable weather forecast should add up to a very small crowd and little, if any, home-field advantage. I agree, this is a game BG “should” win. It’s also a game BG “must” win if it wants to go to a bowl game this year. And that’s exactly why I’m expecting anything less than a repeat of last week where we let a team we “should” beat hang around all game long and we continue to complicate things with boneheaded play calls and head-scratching decision making.
For two and a half quarters last week Kent State looked very good. They led 27-10 on the road and were in complete control. Yes, I know it was Akron, but they still looked good in what they were doing out there and it was their best team performance vs FBS competition this year. Then McCray (who was killing it out there) was knocked out of the game and the game completely flipped. I rewatched the play and his ankle turned outward on a tackle. It didn’t look good but I haven’t seen an update on him. But they seemed to have settled on a new starting QB. His overall numbers are low because of the lack of snaps but he has a very impressive 6–to-1 TD-to-INT ratio. To put that into comparison for BG, we have a combined 10-12 ratio with Bazelak (7-6), Orth (3-4) and Timochek (0-2). Plus I’m guessing Stewart is out and our WR production (also our QB play) has fallen way off in recent weeks.
I just have little faith in the way of confidence when it comes to the leadership (coaching) of this team. They continue to baffle with their stupidity at times of overthinking, overcomplicating and trying to be too cute in key moments of a game. It’s seems to fail way more often than succeed in those moments and continues to hamper this team’s ability to execute in those key moments. Last week Ball State was beyond uncomfortable throwing the ball, and yet, we failed to adjust to them running on nearly every play until they were forced to pass at the end. We had not one but two 1st and goal from the 1 opportunities but instead of going forward (even this team can get a used on four damn tries at home vs a losing team in the MAC) we go sideways and backwards. You know their DC was like they’re going to try something other than up the middle here.
So yeah, I fully expect 1-win Kent State to take BG right down the the wire in another grind it out, nail biter to the very end. The only real question is, can BG score one more point than Kent State with a bowl bid riding on the outcome of the game? We shall soon see…
