We need an insider. Would be nice just to know if he will play this year.
That brace says torn ACL.

You can see the potential of this offense and system. Humphrey has a beautiful shot even inside the arc. Hill is a walking bucket as long as he stays under control. Agee is improved. Spurgin can shoot and actually moves his feet on defense

I'm a huge fan of this challenge. The sun belt is a pretty wacky conference every year for their conference tournament and lets us play two different teams each year. I don't really care who wins the challenge just like the competition

It's a bit concerning. Guess there's a real reason for hope

That was last years injury, I wonder if this is new?

Kamerin Stewarts career will be over in December. Not sure he ever played basketball.
At one point I think we were recruiting him to play hoops.

He has a ceiling but he certainly wouldn't be lost out there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USSZdhQE8e8

Ya he is has a large brace on his leg, I would suspect it’s a recent injury.

Added bonus...I don't think Simon's kids are old enough to play here. :D

HAHA very true. Just check on how things are going over on Mercer. Go legacy & nepotism get ready to find a new coach. A BGSU tradition.

I can’t wait to see this team play live. I have been listening to several mid-major college basketball preview podcasts and it has struck me how many analysts and peer coaches respect Todd Simon. They interviewed Jeff Boals in one of them. When asked about where he is looking for a team to surprise people in the conference he immediately said Bowling Green. He thinks Simon is an elite coach and was impressed with the talent on the roster.

Yes, it's twofold.

Firstly, while people thought I was stupid for mentioning his Twitter presence, it DOES matter. It helps recruiting. IT will help publicity as well. He's still hopping into podcasts and twitter-spaces conversations to talk hoops. He's open and personable and willing to sell the program (and help his own PR as well). Things the previous coach couldn't find time to do outside of some worthless Fricker's visits.

Secondly, the success on court at SUU was noticed, and he is seen by those that follow mid-major hoops.

LIke Chris Jans, there is very little chance we keep Simon here for long. I will just discount any chance of it going down the same road as Jans, and say I hope we get ACTUAL success before he moves on. There is little doubt in my mind that we get to the NCAAs within 5 yrs if we can keep him here. But we poached him before he could hit that milestone at SUU so I Hope like hell that doesn't happen here.

I think he will prove to be better than Jans. I've listened to several Simon podcasts recently from the last year plus. He covers just about every aspect of what it takes to have a winning program. I don't hear any blind spots. The most recent podcast I heard, he spent quite a bit of time talking about how he runs practices. Very impressive. I noticed he spends a significant amount of time every practice on in-game situations. He also talked about linking those situations with unique competitions every practice. The one that stood out was playing 5v5 "2:30 minute games". Basically duplicating "winning time" at end of games. Great stuff! I can't wait to see these guys in person in the next few weeks.

Yes, I love getting to hear our coach talk about basketball. It's great.

We've never had a coach in here in basketball that makes himself so available and open. The closest in football was probably Urban, but it was a completely different era/world back then, but he was always out there. Dakich would put himself out there to promote the program, but when it came to basketball stuff, he was guarded and stubborn.
