I won't challenge anyone's thoughts here as I've seen the same things you all have seen and agree it's as brutal as it's been in a long time. I want to see what impact Scars and Fyten have on the team next weekend before throwing in the towel on the rest of the season. I don't expect to win the MacNaughton. I don't expect home ice for the playoffs. I expect to finish 50+ in the PWR. This is a bad season and it's unacceptable, but I do think there's still a little upside for us, especially since the league this year is so atrocious. Tech is about to go down for the count and Bemidji and Northern are wandering around in the wilderness with us.

Talk to me again after we get back from the Soo. If you're still around, that is.

Chain the goaltender to the net and the team is 1-1 in the league. Play like this past weekend, every weekend, and the team is competing for the last home ice spot (4-5 have been within a game or two of .500). Without all the distractions, the negativity would be warranted.

Football looking up, basketball looking up, people need a negative focus. Guess that's going to be hockey now.

I wouldn’t be negative if they weren’t 2-8-0 and staring down the barrel of a 3rd consecutive losing season.

I hope they turn it around. I want to be proud of this program and feel good about how they’re playing. But they have to show me something to make me believe again.

Yeah, no one is being negative for the sake of being negative (like some on the football board). There's been a gradual decline of the program as Bergeron's recruits have exited, and Eigner has done a poor job in recruiting enough talent and getting the club to play in a winning system. The shenanigans this year have certainly not helped whatsoever, no one is discounting that. It's not good hockey regardless of who is in the lineup , and the basics of the game are being executed poorly.

You being real right now? We have had a major scandal that garnered national attention, lost our best player and are 2-8. That’s pretty bleak considering we took the eventual national champs to OT in the NCAA tournament just 4 years ago

Other than the overzealous response by the school to the "H" word, it's a nothing scandal.

Missing 2 major contributors for 10 games, along with injuries preventing fielding a full roster a couple times, and you're at 2-8. The compete level against Western showed this team has the ability to play at that level, with a freshman goalie.

And yes, Stoever stays in his net those last two goals against Saturday night, and this team is most likely 1-1 in the league. Last the seasons, 4th place has been 2 games above .500.

You are what your record says you are. We didn't have enough depth on the term to overcome issues. If you think two players are going to make this team acceptable and the fill the barn and competitive.....I've got some property in Florida to sell you. This team was going to hang around 500, maybe a little over at best before the chaos started.
