@ Lake Superior (11/17, 11/18)

Post by TalonsUpPuckDown »

Anyone know if Fyten and/or Scardina were on the bus to Lake Superior? During last weeks coaches talk Eigner made it seem like their suspension was over as of this weekend.

I don’t know anything official, but I am with you in that I am under the impression that they will be back and in the lineup this weekend.

I wasn't at the coaches talk. One would think a good reporter, even a mediocre reporter, would ask a question about their return and include the answer in an article. But that would require not following the script they are given for press conferences. Seriously, every article about this upcoming weekend is a text version of the YouTube released press conference.

Clint Corpe from the BG Morning Show actually found a very tactful way of asking Coach Eigner directly during his interview on Tuesday. Eigner said everybody's back with 3 unavailable due to health issues. I'm just guessing those three are Norris, Doran, and Bevilaqua.

Fyten and Scardina officially return tonight. Stoever weirdly scratched. Norris, Doran, Schneider, Bevilacqua all also out.

Cool, we won. Do it like 5 more times in a row and the season might be turned around. Lol

We played really well for the first 30 min. Breakouts were crisp, NZ play was really good, lots of o-zone time. A couple of mistakes lead to their goals (Moore had no chance on those). We hung tough in the third and took advantage of the opportunity when it arose. Well done, boys. Diamond cutter on tap for tomorrow.

Looks like the Mavs are the team to beat for the MacNaughton (again).

Do we yet know what the impact on the team will be from the students being punished by the university for their part in the alleged hazing that occurred?

I'm glad they got a win. This is very likely to be a tough season, perhaps one of the toughest at BG in a long time.

Unless Stoever was suspended last night, on ice punishment is time served. Outside of that, the University is claiming FERPA.

The team played like dog crap in the second. On our heels the whole period. Had a PP with zero SOGs. Blech. Down 3-2 after two.

Probably an optical illusion, but that arena seems to have the longest change in the second period. Stupid play in OT, but that's 3 on 3.

Two of their goals last night came when we couldn’t clear the zone. Same thing tonight. It was the difference.

Power play needs work.
